If some one plans to go for Civic Oriel MT now and also foresee to upgrade to 9th Gen Civic as and when released in Pk...

How much this 8th gen Civic is going to lose on resale keeping in view the fact the 9th gen is a whole new shape, i.e a whole new car.

And let say, if that "some one" is a salaried man and will be putting his hard and long earned saved money so to say cannot afford a substantial resale loss.... to top it off, that some one might be me

I have been through a lot deciding between the two (Altis MT and ORIEL MT)... I went to see both cars today and to my surprise Civic Oriel is NOT available in FSD ! I visited both Honda Showrooms and neither of them have Civic on display and neither is it available !

Went to Toyota and without a doubt New Altis Impresses ! The workman ship in the interior is far more superior then any other local cars in the market !

I will post my detailed analysis and my choice very soon as I plan to get one booked before 10th July

I think (i am biased) 8th gen Civic will be missed and will continue to be loved even when 9th Civic will be on roads of Pakistan...

If you are die hard fan of 8th Civic; go for it; else...get Altis; its better value for money!

@ hb7779. Let me correct u , the bhp of altis is 121 and not 90. 90 is output in kw and 121 in bhp. Not sure about Honda.

Thank you. I tand corrected. It is 121 but still smaller than civic's 140. Also, I see price of 2.0d on Indus's website but no specs or pix. Indus should be ashamed that website. I saw thialand toyota website and it put Indus to shame. I hate Indus. It's like KESC. Take take take and give nothing.

How can Altis be better value for money? Toyota Pakistan is the worst possible advertisement for Toyota motors. Whether its Xli, Gli or Altis - their cars are no match for Honda.

Drive an Altis on the Motorway and as soon as you get over 100 - you can feel the car has no grip at all. Switch cars and drive the Civic in the same situation - the Civic will give you incredible road grip - has a way better suspension - and the interior and exterior is a lot more high quality than the Altis.

You talk like that hondas are no less than a ferrai.you drove one on track and finished the nurbringing in less than 5minutes.engine is no less than a rocket.it give u a grip more than a lamborghini and there was no body roll in the awesome suspension.quality is that like a bmw.

The corolla get snatched alot, IMC appears to be a party with robbers by not offering immobilizer.

May be you said it just as a thought but heard same rumours from many other reliable sources too.... Well I never owned a corolla so am relatively relaxed

as per my experience ABS in corolla has make no difference, the brakes
are not reliable as they were before,
i had an personal experience of applying emergency brakes once on 100km/h speed
the car completely turned back and i hardly got survived. So according to me the brakes are still not responsive.

I've taken my GLi upto 140km/h on Motorway M2 on stock tyres i-e 195/65/15 and didnt feel any issues with the grip.
It was stable as a rock.
I dont understand what kind of grip issues you are reffering to?

I too own a GLi and the brakes are excellent.
Never had any issues with the brakes.
They are responsive and the ABS works like a charm.
Much better brakes then the previous gen Corolla.
