To compete with Civic X https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/civic/244530-10th-generation-civic-exclusive-pakistan-launch released a 1.6L Turbo GDI engine with 201 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque.

The 2017 Elantra Sport will be the most powerful Elantra model ever available with a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed dual clutch transmission with paddle shifters. has also outfitted the model with independent multi-link rear suspension. The exterior and interior is also updated with lots of new features. The model also gets the appropriate design enhancements inside and out to set it apart from regular Elantras. More details will be revealed at launch time sometime in September or October.

Is it expansive than civic X?
If i had to choose between this and civic X, it will be this one.

It will be top of the line Elantra. Currently regular Elantra starts at 17150 while top of the line Elantra is 22350.. The turbo variant will be much less than a fully loaded Civic X. I expect something 26 for fully loaded Sports

From the photos the interior seems a bit less refined and slightly lower in quality than the Civic X's interior. In the end it all boils down to price. If this car is priced at least $5000 below the Civic X then it will probably be bought by car enthusiasts. Else Civic!

Look at the hp, plus exterior can compete but interior is surely downgrade compared to civic. It won't be coming to Pakistan any way

Yeah the []() Elantra is a great car because it’s simple and honest. It’s neither a track-focused sport compact nor is it a highway mpg machine. It’s just a car that does exactly what you want it to do.

Drove it in Australia, the 1.6 Turbo is a beast and car has lots of safety features. This same engine is in I30 and Veloster. Even 2.0 non turbo goes pretty good.
