2019 Cultus Mileage

Hello Pakwheelers,

I bought Cultus VXR in March 2019 because i heared it gives good mileage. Even in the owners review of this car on Pakwheels, everyone seem to quote above 16km/L but the mileage my cultus is giving me is way below that.

Before 1st Inspection, it game me 11.5Km/L im city and 18.5km/L in long. After inspection, i get 12 to 12.5km/L in city with AC.
I emailed Suzuki regarding this issue and they said that we have "NOT QUOTED" the mileage anywhere and hence we cant comment on that.

I also showed my car to the dealership but everything seemed fine to them.

Mileage depends on various parameters like your driving conditions(rush hours or idle traffic jam) plus load in car plus the way you drive (heavy foot or jump start and stop suddenly) plus proper Tyre pressure (must use company recommended tyre pressure and stock size tyre) plus reputed fuel pump (famous for good mileage).
i also own cultus, with little traffic jams i get 15.5 with 90% AC in city, sometime it drops depends on idling time with AC on long signal or traffic jams. With partial AC during monsoon season i get 16 with AC in city (70% AC), with light foot.
i'm using 35 psi in all 4 tyres, sometimes 33 psi in all 4 tyres.
There are lot of myths in pakistan for example tyre pressure should not be more then 30 etc in hot weather. engine oil grade must be 5w30 in hot weather etc.
Car manufacturer has written all the answers in user manual, do follow the manual, don't even ask dealership mechanic, always discuss with staff member at dealership who is available on counters, they are trained staff.
well i'm using 0w20 oil grade as recommended in user manual.
on the other side it is your car, you have to decide how you wanna go with the car.
above mentioned fuel average is manually calculated by full to full tank method.

Mileage depends on how u drive plus traffic conditions. My most traveling is on ISB expressway and i usually get 19 to 20. my daily mim running is 65km. car has crossed 50k. i m cautious driver meaning i don't let the rpm cross 3 normally before i shift gear. Plus also good quality fuel also helps a bit. The car should give 16 in city as per my view in normal conditions

I am using 5w 30 which is rather expensive but i was told that it gives good fuel average.

Secondly, i am mostly alone in my car or may be a have one passenger and the tyre pressure is at 30 psi. I have never tried above that.

And also that i only go to PSO's official station to maintain the fuel quality and i calculate mileage through full tank method.

Still my average is never more than 12

I have 2019 vxl cultus. I can only get max 13.5 with ac.. Tried soft pedal but just seems difficult getting above that.

Also would you reset the avg petrol nob at each refil?

I’ve cultus AGS driven 1200 km so far and it’s showing avg between 15-16 km/l within city with AC. Mostly driven in DHA/Cantt, Gulberg, Faisal town etc. Usually I prefer routes with less signals even though it’s 2-4 km more than alternate route.
RPM is in between 1-2k.
