This is subjective.
Oh man you cannot forgot Prius.
Toyota engines do million miles and don't complain. Toyotas go to deserts, forests, north pole, south pole. For you speed maybe better, for others durability and reliability trump speed. Toyotas are built to last. Ever seen a honda pilot or partiot in any militray service? Land Cruisers and Hilux serve law enforcement all over the world. Toyota Hiace and Coaster move people around the world.
Honda has no car in full-size sedan class, no car in full-size SUV class.
And 4 of those 2.0 have a combined life less than 1 3.5 v6. Match this
Just because you like Honda doesn't mean it is better.
Toyota was also in F1 in the past, and they may re-join in future.
Yes and has useful life 1/10th that of equivalent slow lumbering engine of Toyotas. Longevity is not a metric? Torque is not a metric? Off-road ability is not a metric (its not an engine metric strictly but engine plays a role).
It's all about what you need and what you like. If one company matches with what you like, it doesn't make it better. You cannot just ignore the requirements and preferences of millions of other people who need a different balance of longevity, reliability, torque, even fuel (diesel only in some areas and applications). Honda maybe better for you, it doesn't make it better for others.
A lot of people want a car that doesn't start complaining as soon as it leaves the pristine city roads.
Please race that lesser displacement car with 1 or 2 million miles on the odometer. We'll see. We'll see even if it starts up.
If I want a car for myself, I'll want a Civic 1.5 Turbo or if possible, Civic Si (if I choose to ignore the BMW 4/6 series for some wierd reason), but if I want a car for family, I'll want a Toyota.
