firstly to all the critics here bashing Honda city, please, focus your energy on atlas and not the car. since theyre the ones giving a subpar product. and overlooking all the quality standard protocols.
secondly, to all the car experts here, please straighten out your buying criteria and stop comparing used cars to brand new ones, if someone wants a prius, they wouldnot even think about a city. so please straighten out your buying criteria, otherwise people buying a civic or corolla would start comparing it c class or 3 series.
thirdly, make just comparisons, know the difference between apples and oranges. i just read on the forum where someone compared corallas rear seats to citys, brother what did you expect, theres a big difference in the size standards between the two different categories of cars youre comparing. one category is in a completely different league than the other. so please do it with yaris which is more reasonable. in my personal opnions, i find seats of all pkdm cars a bit hard.
thirdly, its a widely accepted notion that honda cars are designed to give a slightly more sporty feel, but no where do they claim the performance to be at par to proper sports cars. honda knows that sports cars are not in every person's reach, so with a slightly more sporty tuning of a normal economy sedan, they aim to tap the car enthusiast market for whom sporty pleasure matters more than just comfort pleasure (know that difference between the two formats). no matter what anyone claims, landslide majority car reviewers rate honda products to be outperform toyota products in terms of sporty pleasure (thats goes for city and yaris comparison). yaris or even corolla, be that xli or altis, has a dead but a more comfortable drive. when it comes to rolling pickup, admittedly, city has low torque, hence a sluggish response is there, but its more agile and responsive when youre pushing it to the limit. yes, many people wouldnt be redlining their city all the time, but im pretty sure, a car enthusiast would always prefer to have that as an option and that is the basis of honda products. another thing, driving pleasure doesnt necessarily mean cornering at high speeds, one feels that pleasure at normal speeds too.
should i also throw in a fun fact yet totally irrelevant to this discussion that honda engines are being used by red bull in f1 and that they stand at second position, behind mercedes. (this was just to show that irrelevant comparisons can be used by anyone, anywhere, just to make weird points)
Lastly, which car one should get completely depends on personal preference but that doesnt allow a person to make claims that defy engineering concepts- this statement pertains to honda having tuned its cars with a sports setup bias yet pakistanis challenging those concepts put into that tuning by simply claiming that "softer suspension (on yaris/corolla) give a more engaging drive than a harder suspension" same goes for the hp and torque dilemma.
anyway, this forum is dedicated for honda city, please refrain from making weird comparisons and contribute things along the lines of product leaks, reviews and expectations.if you do not like the car, you should just look the other way instead of incessantly bashing and criticism. its sad, painful, unfair and unprofessional of Atlas to launch an older generation, but we have to face that music, thats how things work in a country where there are no corporate checks, importance given to public interest or compliance to international standards. in terms of quality, safety or product lifecycle.
