I can somewhat understand why people booked, sorry, pre-booked City. What I can't understand is how did they decide which variant of City to buy? (talking about genuine buyers only, not the investors)
How did people decide between Aspire, simple 1.5 and 1.2 variants?
What exactly is Honda Atlas offering extra in Aspire variant over the simple 1.5 variant? What's the difference in price of both variants? Is the difference between price of Aspire and 1.5 variants justified by the extras offered in Aspire? Am I willing to pay the difference in price for the difference in features?
Sure, 1.5 will have better performance over the 1.2 variant. But what is the price of that extra performance? What if I'm willing to pay PKR 100,000 for the extra performance, but not PKR 400,000? What if I went with 1.2 because I thought the price difference between 1.5 and 1.2 will be PKR 300,000 that I wasn't willing to pay, but would have certainly paid the extra PKR 100,000 that the company eventually charged?
Deciding between CVT and manual variants seems easy, right? But is it really? What if CVT variant costs, hypothetically, PKR 300,000 more than manual variant? Would I still prefer it?
Which variant turns out to have the best value for money and is well rounded package for the asking price is anybody's guess. Currently, all bookings have been done blindly and no one is sure of price, features, or the relative price / performance ratio of the variant they have booked.
Customers have the right to cancel their bookings if they don't like the product for the given price, but they don't have the right to change the variant they choose without going right at the back of the queue and all their extra wait going to waste.
