All of this optimism with final price not in sight. Sure, they can provide all these features but at what cost?
Imagine Atlas was selling a stripped down (no-airbag) model for upto 3.0 million, what would they charge for 'this blessing of' two rear air vents?

We can curse Honda but launching of 7th generation would not be a feasible option for both company and user. The price of 7th generation would be too high to compete with Yaris and other sedans of same category. So I think, Honda is compelled to launch old generation to compete

Exactly, this is the most pathetic way to launch a car. Sad to say that they did the same with Civic X and BRV.

That's a useless argument BECAUSE Atlas should have move along the wind and should have launched GM6 back in 2015/16.. NO they didn't and now doing it 7 year later.

Atlas have been making average 4 to 6 billion in revenue per year after year 2015 onwards and they could have continued with it and rather improve if they launched the GM6 in 2015 BUT they never did so because no competition back then and they were already making money.

It's all mismanaged show. By your argument, we will see 7th generation when world will enjoy the 8th and so on... Sir, Atlas had enough resources to utilize but they never did at the right time.

If you want a brand new car in price bracket of 2.7MPKR to 3.2MPKR, and you have no trust in new Chinese brands and u don't like Yaris shape. Being Honda one of big 3 manufacturer some how u trust them with unseen product. That's the only logic behind people booking without knowing features and price of Honda city...and I am one of them

In the end of 2019, the sales of City was dropped so much that dealership were offering incentives like free utility pack, free oil change and running after the customers to win a sale. We got an incentive of almost 40,000 on purchase of city. You can say that the car was purchased for less than 40000 of the invoice price. At that time, I have discussions with dealerships and asked why they are not launching the new city, they told that Honda has done internal pricing for new generation and it would increase the price of city by 300,000. At that point when sale was down, they thought it would not be feasible to launch the new car due to price issue.

Sir , I gave you a detailed argument in my earlier comment. Honda Atlas didnt invest their profits towards the launch of the newer generation. It should have been 2015. Had they done that in timely fashion.. we would have a 7th/ GN1 City today.

Why didnt atlas introduce brio in place of honda city 1.2. Could have kept it in the range of 2.2 2.3 mils. Would have given a headache to picanto and cultus. 1.2 in a sedan dont sound good at all.

So when Indus launched Yaris, was it a platform already being worked at their assembly line? I don't think so,
When people say 7th gen cost would be higher because it's a new platform then,
1. Why when Indus launched Yaris (a new platform for them) was it priced around the city, y didn't they also go too expensive?
2. City 7th gen and Yaris are sold mostly at almost the same price, y would the 7th be more expensive in Pakistan

I think Toyota already had the jigs and machines for Corolla, which is more expensive to manufacture and probably has the same type of welding joints etc. Not sure, just guessing.

I always believed it's because Honda-Toyota have some sort of muk muka with Suzuki to let them have the hatchback section and then dominate the sedan category. I hope this changes with increase in competition. But it also might be a branding policy like KIA is bringing in another SUV Stonic to rival civic toyota, and in future it might even bring more smaller SUVs to rival city if success continues . Their branding themselves as an SUV brand in Pak, thats why cerato was dropped since it would be difficult for it to establish in a race with Yaris City.
