Honda City 1.2 CVT would do just fine in terms of sales.

Most users will feel right at home as traffic moves at a snails pace in Lahore during peak hours (ones usual commute)...

Puri Dunya 1.3 GLI/XLI chalati rahi.. kissi nay choon nahin ki..Companies market exploit karti hain.. its business. Honda will also get away with it as general public doesn't care about the torque etc...

Only car enthusiats note these things.. and even if you are one.. traffic itni hai aur opper say motor cycle walay andar ghussay aatay hain kay driving ka maza to door ki baat tension hi hoti rehti hai..

On a separate note; Manuals are always more fun to drive.. CVTs are the most boring... but that's just me..

Honda to aisay baitha hai gari chuppah kay jaisay ka Tesla Model S launch kar raha ho..

IMHO They won't go beyond 31 million initially as they would want to attract the market first after the actual launch.. Once they start deliveries only then the prices will be increased in line with market feedback..

If they keep it at 3.1 million it might be more successful than Yaris. At 3.1 million Yaris will have a good competition and Indus might be forced to introduce the facelift with more features.

Exactly... I think they will price it at par with all Yaris variants initially... then after the market gets more traction then the prices will be increased...

Toyota will follow the price revisions with some minor cosmetic changes soon.

We are heading towards a 3.5 mil bracket for sure by next year..as sadly in Pakistan the competition colludes rather than competing and regulators are probably in the game..

The only good that has come out for the customers are better features although value for money for all cars is way below the international standards..

I think what we all know what to expect from 1.5 engine , it is 1.2 which is creating a lot of interest and polarity of opinion. If it wasnt for 1.2 , this thread would be long dead given that there isnt anything going on atlas side.

Honda has revealed most of the features they are going to in the top of the line aspire , In my opinion 1.2 version will miss out most of them. There wont be any rear ac vent , push start , cruise control and even have even only 1 airbag(IMO). It will be stripped down version with a 1.2 engine and probably wont justify the price tag given to it.

I also tried booking an Aspire CVT on the second day... but was shocked to know that the dealership had no information about the product nor the actual price...

They said Sir its 1.5L with CVT Transmission.. nothing else is confirmed.

This would have been my first Honda.. but I for one can't buy a product without knowing about it in detail.

Was pretty disappointed.. asked them when it will be available for inspection.. and the response again was nothing is sure...

Once the features started rolling out.. again visited the dealership but the booking period was horrendously long hence dropped the idea of buying a city.

Dollar rate, chip shortage etc etc... companies in Pakistan have gotten in the habit of increasing prices every 2 months or so without even any justification...

So yeah... totally expected..

Bhai ji waqt waqt ki baat hay...

Kabhi 800cc mehran mein bhi 5 banday fit hotay thay, aaj yaris Alsvin city ko 4 seater ketay hein.. aap ki baat 1300 cc wali corolla kay hawalay say theek hay lekin tab zamana manual ka tha... auto 1.3 bhi flop thi... aik 1.2 uper say cvt... koi acha experience nahi huga... mg zs say bhi thiggar pick hugi...

The biggest shock would be if the 1.2 turns out to be a totally different car altogether.. they are calling it DXIRE...if its the same then how come the cabin space is different...Kahin DXIRE hatchback hi na niklay.. as per Atlas ... 1.2L is specially designed for Pakistani market...

And I am not inclined to think that it's a dealer thing... the dealership I visited.. Honda SKT also had the same sheet...

Ya phir cheaper panay ki Inteha ki Atlas nay to hosakta hai kay DXIRE main dashboard aur seats hi faraq hon.. only then the cabin space can increase if the body is the same...

There are too many unknowns right now regarding the 1.2L variant.

this means 2 production lines, Altas won't do that. They brought old City to keep costs down (setting up new production line etc), there is no way they will do something like that.

Waisay kamaal hai... Honda ki koi inside pics leak nahin howi factory say... yah phir production start hi nahin howi..which is quite unlikely as they have scheduled deliveries from August..

They should price aspire under or at 3M max.
