We don't even have enough natural gas for household purposes, CNG usage again in cars would be suicide.

I can't say for sure but as far as I remember, diesels have better fuel economy but worse emissions. That's why they're being phased out in the west. Plus I've read some people on car forums claiming that all those new techs to reduce diesel emissions have reduced their reliability as well.

Pakistan really doesn't have enough of an electric infrastructure to sustain the influx of electric cars either. So unfortunately at the end of the day petrol or petrol hybrids are the only powertrains that make long term sense here. Unfortunately the environment is so horrible in pak that petrol has to be phased out sooner rather than later.

CNG is an absolute NO... There should be a complete ban on CNG use in vehicles.. even currently rurning CNG vehicles should be banned.

Hybrids should be encouraged and significant reliefs should be offered to that sector. Local manufacturers should be bound to start manufacturing hybrid vehicles locally.

Electrical vehicles ka abhi koi scope nahin hai... Abhi last khuch days main hi load shedding ka haal dekh lain . Unless we build a handful of large hydro power projects we can't go down this road... Electricity produced by IPPs is extremely costly and is also not environment friendly and on top significantly adds to the import bill which hugely affects the overall economy.

We need to complete Dasu, Suki Kinari, Mohmand, Diamer Bhasha & Korat Dams on time. High electricity costs have huge impacts on overall industrial competitiveness as far as exports are concerned and also has a huge adverse effect for the local market.

Electric vehicles are the future. But how can government expect people to buy electric vehicles when they are available for such high prices. Need to add a lot of charging stations inside the city and on motor ways , charging stations every 200 kms on motorways.

any idea how to buy and install charging station for commercial use in pakistan ? I am very interested in installing one in sialkot.

The equipment... you will have to import.. China would be cheaper and till next year there is zero duty/tax on such imports as far as I know. Finalise the equipment and import through a friend who gets regular shipments from China... Sialkot is full of such people

For the actual station you will have to obtain permission from Secretary City District Govt Punjab and District administration Sialkot (DC). You will need a political reference for the second part... Govt.says somethings but the machinery makes it really difficult to do the same... baki Quaid a Azam zindabad... but that would be actually Haram and would advise against going that path.

You are an engineer Mashallah... if you are an electrical/electronics engineer then this shouldn't be difficult for you to figure out the tech ical parts.

I do and i am sure there are others as well who do care about how a car looks. Not denying reliability and quality are to be ignored but saying shape doesnt matter or who cares how it looks, its an overstatement.

Agreed. Shape is the first thing to consider. Companies spend lot of time and money on reseach and design. It surely does matter specially in case of sedan category.

Similarly yaris looks particularly ugly to some who buy city... yar shape achi nahi legi... side say incomplete legti hay.. uchi hay... and the very next comment on city is thori uxhi hoti tu bohat aala hoti...

Shape is the lamest reason amongst all, there is nothing wrong with any cars shape... whatever sells more gets trending... people called city istaree/dadou now its a standard car, i see people praising its shape... charade was called "anda" and went down in history books as the most loved hatxh in Pakistan... so my friend, its specs and reliability topped with affordability that wins...

Bhai na dero itna Yaris say, aap ki city achi khasi bikay gi... 5000 unit tu aap nay pre book he ker liye hein May June aur July mein... comes down to 1500 per month... not bad for a city to get these many sales... that too ;blind bookings;

You are right but the fact is for some people shape is more important than features.
Mein aapko mobile ki example deta hoon Oppo and Infinix etc usually give low spec mobiles but are popular because they have better shiny, colourful glass designs. So people do take that into consideration. For them looks are the prime focus.

Or rahi baat shape ke tou Bhai Honda copied Accord design from BMW, City rear also from BMW and now upcoming Civic rear is copied combination of Yaris and Alsvin. They just trolled themselves.

Gas crisis is due to improper storage and import of gas. Pakistan imports a lot of oil for consumption. Gas import is not an additional bill but reduces the impact of very high oil bill. Pak could have saved a lot of dollars by importing gas and reducing the oil import bill.
But I guess the gov off didn't want to get away from the oil imports.

New diesels are have less emissions than before I will share documents when I have them handy. But no diesels in Pakistan is something I can't understand for a market whose first question in deciding a car is fuel economy .

Yes diesel options should be here but apparently in diesel engines we only have the buses and trucks

This is probably due to the fact that majority cannot afford to buy good looking cars whereas cheap and good looking cars i.e mark x, mark ii and accord cl9/7 are difficult to maintain as they've been abused so bad, just look at the Chrysler PT Cruiser or a Prius even, people in the US and UK absolutely hate these cars whereas people here adore the Prius even me.

Looks of a car matters , the degree of how much it matters for everybody is different. I for one like a bit of riff even in the econoboxes , and yaris is a whole lot of boring. But yaris is the best choice at the moment between yaris and alsvin :D.

CITY is a good looking car in its segment. Though I like 7th gen more; 6th gen face-lift variant also looks great.

It's a very reliable ride and one of the top choices in India which is a much bigger market than ours.

Yaris failed miserably there despite having many extra frills and 7 airbags and what not...
