Bro we got your point, but the point here which our fellow friends are trying to mention is, its an added safety feature which may save you... may be the probability for its effectiveness is 0.0001% but till it is added safety. even Japanese 660cc cars have it...
Honda could have added... but what i thinks is they are saving it for 2 or 3 year later Face lift... TC VSC, LED headlamps and LED back lights.. Because they have already given the famous SHARKFIN antenna. so they must need something for future facelift, specially near when Toyota will launch Yaris facelift. this 6th Gen is here to stay for at least next 5 to 6 years.

I myself have booked City Aspire.. But honestly speaking, there is no comparison of Corolla with CITY.. I have kept 2018 1.6 Altis, It a nice comfortable car and its size and comfort with decent looks can easily compensate for features offered in Aspire...

F me with all the "200 hp cars need VSC or driver being drunk" reasons. As if a non-drunk driver will not have to swerve at high speeds, it's like we don't have bad drivers in Pakistan at all LOL. You can be the best driver in the world but what will you do when someone swerves at high speeds from center to fast lane?

The point being, safety features are added to cars not because they are needed daily but because if they are not there when needed rarely, it can mean the difference between life and death.

This is exactly why it's important. Only make claims for VSC not being important when you've not swerved at high speeds in Pakistan because of some other driver.

Honda will be very happy with their fan boys justifying their product hats off to all of the fan boys be it Yaris or City or for that matter any brand.

Let there be options for people to choose and its healthy competition which will force assemblers/manufacturers to give more features as its likely that Indus will respond with small facelift for Yaris with at-least cruise control added to compete with City and its a win win for all of us.

it is on 3 to 2.5 month booking, ( i have booked one) and insider source has told that 1.8 CVT is going to be removed. no more cvt 1.8 I said after this move by honda, will indus have to remove 1.6 as well and focus on grande only.

Lol Yaris also has so many more features that Altis does not have. It does not mean people wanting to buy Altis 1.6 would move to Yaris. What makes them different is their size.

I understand your point better now and I agree with what you are saying. The probability of oversteer/understeer in a FWD car especially with less HP is lower compared to the probability of it happening in a RWD especially with higher HP - completely agreed there.

However the probability is still there even if low and having VSC and TC is still useful because on an off day, it will come in handy. I had an accident last year on PKDM Swift (FWD, lower HP) and the car oversteered at 90/100 because a Prado cut in the fast lane in front of me without any warning and I had to save myself - I don't know how I was saved but I got lucky, my car wasn't as lucky. Now I had the car for 7 years but VSC & TC need was never felt before or after that day: 1 day in the 2500 days I kept the car. That's why its always good to have more safety options even if the probability of them being needed is low.

I understand your point and agree with your analysis but would just add that this doesn't make the feature useless and any car which has the feature will be safer and should be considered valuable.

The point is small cars never compete with bigger ones. City cannot compete with Altis 1.6 even if you give it VSC which it is missing right now

imho I think both Yaris and City has some features in their pockets which deliberately removed from current releases, they both will review the sales figures and based on that they'll offer those feature in upcoming facelifts
I think yaris has edge here, they can easily put some plug and play features and call it a facelift and move ahead of City (again it's my own opinion)
for those who are of opinion that VSC or TC are not important, I can only agree when everyone in Pakistan drives carefully (well you guys might be professional drivers), while most of the drivers without basic ethics won't drive their vehicles carefully in fact, every day I see some idiot taking their car and drive like crazy so yeah safety features are necessary

Honda has put some good features in their product only thing which bothers me is the old generation and lack of few safety feature
Still I think honda will sell because of our urban mindset that toyota is for rural people
I hope to see some good competition not some fan boy stuff

Registration and other overheads will be there with CITY as well. 65K to 70K registration cost for city as well.
