Toyota NR series engines went in production in 2008. The one used in 1.5 Yaris is newer modified version which was commissioned in 2017.
Honda L series engines went in production in 2001; the one coming in New CITY is a newer modified version of L15 which was commissioned in 2013.
I hope you can do the math which one is newer.... who said that Honda can't/doesn't make DOHC engines. They do and they are excellent machines
But Honda Atlas decided not to put in a 1.5L DOHC I-Vtec Engine in Honda City (That's the one which is in Honda Fit/Vezel etc) because the SOHC variant is much cheaper (around 40% cheaper than their DOHC counterparts) yet it's an excellent engine and will suit the Pakistani market due to better fuel efficiency.
