Sorry FKS. And my bad, l15b1 has more peak power. In fact I am yet to find an NA 1.5 engine that gives higher output than l15b1. And real killer from toyota is G16E GTS engine, production engine with highest hp/litre

Yah most of the carmakers mate their engines with turbo , if they are below 1.6 L. Very difficult to find a NA engine with more peak power than L15 b1.

They doesn't came in standard cars.

The engine in elantra 1.6 has pretty good specific power.

B16 had a much higher hp/l. Seems like all 1.5s are tuned for economy rather than power. l15b1 hp/l is not that impressive, it is only impressive when comparing with regular economy car engines.

Even if you move up to 2 L NA engines , l15B1 pretty much is neck to neck as far as specific power goes.

plus l15b1 seems to have gained all that power from the much higher compression ratio. for india and some other markets it got detuned to 121hp for fuel octane rating concerns, which is called l15zf I think. It is kinda sad honda did not get all that much hp gain for the same compression ratio compared to l15z1, as l15zf has got dohc, vtc and direct injection on top of it compared to z1.

the new dohc earth dreams engines sound amazing tho. They give the proper old na honda vtec b/k series vibes. amazing for an economy car.

On the other hand the ivtec sohc motors all sound terrible. r18, l13, l12, l15 all sound like vacuum cleaners.

I personally really like the 2nzfe sound amongst all local cars' engines. The engine may be pathetic in all other areas, but it definitely sounds pretty good. All other local toyota engines sound even worse than honda vacuum cleaner ivtecs.

1.5's are usually stroked-up versions of 1.3.

In all seriousness elantra 1.6 can ruin city if it comes for a reasonable price and is not completely barebones. 1.6 with the removal of sunroof, electric seats, led lights and single zone climate control rather than dual should be pretty close to aspire 1.5 cvt price.

better to have this sort of discussion than yaris vs city fights which lead nowhere.

i dont know of any 1.3s with higher hp/l either. 1.5 hondas are usually better in hp/l than honda 1.3s due to more performance oriented tuning. Even though higher stroke engines usually have lesser hp/l and rev lesser. Honda 1.5s usually redline around 7k rpm compared to 1.3s with 6.5k rpm redline.

Please suggest, should i change my booking from aspire to 1.5 base? 274k difference and only alloys, navigation, smart key/push button, auto ac and leather seats
