I don't know why they even try to give a sporty spin to a box. Let corolla be good at what it is extremely good at, and after updated suspension in the 2019 facelift the drive has gotten better a lot as well. Its excellent package as is, doesn't need any sporty gimmick like fake shifts or black interior with red stitching. If they want to give some fun, they should bring some features from the XSE line, with real sporty stuff.
For driving pleasure, Civic Turbo is the only option, but it's so expensive, and buying a second car for family is not possible for most. Civic turbo prices also do not make sense.
