One of my friend inquired about 1.5CVT today for fresh booking and a showroom quoted delivery date of March 2022.

Imagine how many yaris could be booked and delivered during that period. Honda Atlas should have upped the production from the day it started pre-bookings. Covid-19 equally affected all the local assemblers and yet somehow IMC still managed to deliver yaris in a month or so.

Now even the loyal buyers will think twice before booking new city since delivery times are long.

Have seen many complaints regarding the sluggishness of the 1.2 jazz in India. Even saw it in an Indian article regarding most underpowered cars in India. Using 5th gen 1.3 city manual as reference, there's no way 1.2 will feel reasonably powered in 6th gen. 1.3 Mt already felt sluggish as hell with more than 2 people and luggage in the car. Plus the price difference between 1.2 CVT and 1.5 base CVT is too low not to go for 1.5, and the 1.5 has some minor extras as well.

Also the Indian fuel economy numbers for the 6th gen 1.5 CVT are better than the 1.2 jazz CVT. So 1.2 city won't even have the fuel economy advantage.

From some inside sources I know that atlas is extremely afraid of increasing production. They would rather have long booking times than risk increasing production and sales slowing down for whatever reason afterwards.

Wierd. This is an open invitation for IMC to sell as many yaris as possible without any competition. Seems like HACPL is in "self destruct" mode

As far as I know, once back in the day atlas increased production, due to some economic reasons overall sales went down and atlas suffered losses. They've been very scared to increase production since. Since 2018s tabdeeli, all manufacturers seemed to have colluded to keep the production numbers low. Seems like Yaris was the first to break this trend, solely to get as many sales as possible before they get any real competition.

ty has much powerful engine then Yaris let me share my experience civic 1.8 oriel has more power then grande on papers but when you drive them both civic feels damn sluggish until you push it completely on other hand grande

I disagree here. I will say PLEASE anything except the 4 speed auto. I have not driven a 1.6, but in GLi it felt like the computer is looking for a gear and it is not there, causing the engine to either scream (by pushing the pedal to get the car moving) or the car to shudder due to very low torque when gear ratios change a lot. It felt like its out of the ideal torque band quite often.

Altis 1.6 can be helped a lot with a CVT. And a few features to take away some potential City buyers.

Mujhe to abhi tak isme se Atlas Indus bhai bhai wali feeling aa rahi hai and I feel Yaris prices will most probably go up, maybe with a facelift to add a few things to match with City.

And just like City, Yaris is also not worth a penny more than its current price. For all variants.
