Thats true.. If we just look at a map, the entire Punjab west of GT road had no proper road to travel towards East ( Rwp, Lahore, et cetera).. So Motorway provided access to a LOT of people from Western Punjab whichh still feel like backwaters ( due to no connectivity for ages) eg Sargodha...

GT Road is a NO NO for any long travel.. Heavy traffic, randomly popping potholes ( rains wreak havoc), towns and cities and their traffic, ..
It is a major headache, to be honest.
Motorway will save your fuel, suspension, time, headache everything.

City 1.2 manual does seem like the best value for money variant, but it's being completely ignored. On the other hand the engine is going to feel pretty underpowered and might as well save money and go for Yaris GLI 1.3 and get a much better engine.

City 1.2 should not have been more expensive than Yaris ativ at least.

not likely. It will probably be best in fuel economy in its class

Fuel economy is a function of pulling power + vehicle weight and torque @ rpm..
This engine sounds weak, 1.2L and pulling a car that will be 1300 kg or perhaps more when loaded..
At (110-120) it is not going to give more than 14 km/lit..
Yes, 90-100 it may be able to give 17 km/lit.

Interior and exterior is so much better then the Yaris. What a bummer, they've kept the price so high.

1.2 CVT and 1.5 CVT have difference of only 100k, 1.5 CVT also have cruise it looks more value for money than 1.2CVT

In my exp traveling on GT was always more economical. Now I am talking about around about 2010-2013 era. On my 1.3 MT city I used to get better mileage on GT and worse on Motorway as the engine had to rev cabove 3k (if i remember correctly) to maintain 120.

at that time the only issue was the gujranwala by-pass as a bridge was underconstruction since I think I was born. But other than that the journey was enjoyable, Infact the last patch includin sirai alamgir, dina and other small stations on the way to ISB was a joy to drive because of their winding roads, It was on those roads you could tell that the 8th gen reborn steering was so much better than all its successors.

I blv honda is trolling the pkdm buyers, they have effectively taken out the 1.2 cvt out of the market. Any one spending that ridiculous amount for a 1.2cvt should just go for 1.5cvt.
and if the buyer cares for safety and features, they can just get an ATIV X in the exact same price.

1.3MT used to feel underpowered on motorway, a 1.2 cvt will be a donkey cart. I heard that the honda fit has a fuel cut off at 145kmph to save the engine load. If that is in place, LOL..

Exactly why would anyone buy 1.2 cvt when they can get 1.5 cvt for just 1 lac more. The only reason people may go for 1.2 cvt may be the misconception that it will have a better fuel average.

I drove the Honda 1.3 MT for 60k and never found it to be underpowered. The power was ample for a 1.3 l car. However, the 1.3 Prosmatec was surely underpowered.

i had the 1.3 2011 MT. in city traffic it was fine, but it always felt a bit underpowered to me on motorway. THe 1.3 GLI felt even more underpowerd.

but you are right in normal day to day city drive, it was fine.

The engine to body weight ratio determine the basic fuel economy.
The driving style of a user can get fuel economy within those pre-determined limits by the OEM.

Fuel Guzzler will remain a fuel guzzler. be it a Manual or CVT in with any motor.

Well, i believe our experiences differ to a great extent as i have kept 2 corollas with 2NZ FE engine and both performed decently and never really felt ' underpowered'. The city 1.3L was fine on motorways as well.
I think we need to revisit the definition of underpowered or perhaps the perception of power is different for everyone .
I believe the 1.2 CVT will perform reasonably as power losses are minimum in a CVT transmission.

I agree with the time line. It was fun during this time era but only during the day. Come night fall it became really difficult specially with pedestrians crossing GT road without caring about the speeding traffic

Actually the same thing Atlas did with 1.5 non aspire variant in previous model. It was just 60k above from 1.3 variant.

Yes for automatic 1.5 base CVT is the way to go. 1.2 CVT is the worst variant in my opinion. Manual 1.2 seems like a better option.
