sir omar, with all due respect people never wanted 2zr engine, they only wanted sunroof and sometimes auto gear. otherwise most people don't like 1.8 corolla because big engine with more taxes.

LOL, City has edge now in terms of pricing 36 lacs and 31.75 has alot of difference. Now city will be competing with only yaris.

It's not the knob. The gear shoe and gear knob has a 1 inch gap. As in a 15 year old car.

Even suzuki alto isn't like that, Yaris to kaffi door ki bat hai

No difference with cvt even. 1.6 was hands down a much better car and now even better if we consider current premium on aspire. Grande engine is another league

Still there are people who would consider this over grande just because of the smaller engine size and lower tax and plus you are getting all the features of grande with it .

I kept grande in past and now driving Altis 1.6 x. Despite CVT transmission, grande is much more fun to drive, 2ZR love to accelerate. 1.6 is good vehicle, it get the job done, 4 speed SECT not optimal for fuel economy but it's shifting is butter smooth and quite responsive which makes city driving experience much better than 1.8 CVT, on highway, no match with grande.

The other important typical pakistani factor is resale, 1.6 leading the market at the moment, my friend sold is pre FL 2017 1.6 same day he posted the Ad.

Wait are you saying that 1.6 feels better to drive in the city than the 1.8? 1.8 and cvt should be a better driving experience than 1.6 and 4at everywhere. The 1.6 is gonna be way more reliable in the long run though, solely because of cvts inherent unreliability.

Yes, on congested routes and slow speeds stop and accelerate situations, I found TC transmission response better and more immediate, could be due to cvt lag although Toyota has done a good job with their cvt transmission.

They intentionally missed out CVT...

If they start delivering it in a months time or even 45 days then CITY Aspire will take a serious hit as with own it almost touched 36+...

I think IMC will exactly do that.. they will keep Grande deliveries at 5-6 months... New Altis at 1 to 1.5 months..

With much bigger car and lots of features despite the old transmission people would go for it IMHO.

If IMC doesn't plan delivering it in a significantly shorter time than Aspire then it won't make much of an impact as with own it would be atleast 3 lac costlier than the Aspire whose own has already started going down.
