Yaris has 7 fake shift points for its CVT. And that's only in manual mode, in D mode I believe it acts just like a normal CVT. Honda has no fake shifts in the local city, I don't know why people are calling it 5 speed. S and L modes are more than good enough alternatives for manual mode. It's really unfortunate that due to market demand all manufacturers are putting fake shifts for cvts now.

From my experience in a grande, D mode seems to perform better in every single scenario than the manual mode. Manual mode is fun to use for a few mins, after that the novelty wears off and it's completely pointless. The honda modes offer a different experience for the specific condition without holding a gear. Really unfortunate that even honda is going the manual mode route with 7th gen city and 11th gen civic.

Oh yeah forgot about that. Manual definitely was better in downhill. But on the other hand Hondas achieve the same level of engine braking without any fake shifting in S and L modes.

No they just suddenly reduce the gear ratio, but the gear ratio keeps varying after. If D was using fake gears too, the gear ratio would be kept constant and rpm would be varying. But in D mode even with sudden kickdown rpm is held constant at a high level due to drivers demand for increased power. The sudden increase or decrease in rpm is according to the sudden changes in load and the CVT and ECU determining what rpm to keep the engine at according to the drivers demand. This gives the peak efficiency. Otherwise might as well have a regular auto, which the manufacturers avoid because the modern autos with a good amount of gears are more expensive I assume.

If you can share your experience based only on road noise difference between cc6 vs eurostars that would be very helpful.
Plus considering only road noise, is advan db worth the higher tread wear, or would you say cc6 offers an equally quiet ride?

I am on my 2nd set of advan db. And only after this thread i understood the puncture issue. I used last set for under 50k in 2 years And each tyre had atleast 4 punctures in them.

There is a hugeeee difference between road noise of Cc6 compare with Eurostar.

Cc6 noise rating is 70dB whereas Advan Db 552 is something around 61dB.. personally I have used Advan dab in Civic and later UC6 in civic.. comparing both UC6 was way way better. For tyre size of City, I don't have experience with Advan dB but CC6 feel Soo quite..

Yes. You wait until the next series is auctioned (usually in a week's time).
And apply for the same number in it
This is a recurring cycle, until you can eventually win it.

I got my number through auction as well, bid at the minimum 2000 Rs and won it the first time

In sialkot local showrooms are brimming with 1.2s and own is as down as 50k on 1.2 cvt. The investors are not too happy.

The number I wanted was 0xx and it wasn't available in current series and I was given an older series

For Punjab:
The procedure is online, through the e auction app registration.
Once registered you'll need to submit the minimum amount pay order in excise as security.
And you'll be granted access to the auction portal.

I avoided all that and paid a 1000Rs to the officer at the excise office who handles the pay-orders (the auction entries) and he bid at my number for me.
Once the results were out, I went 2 days later and got the registration done

However if u ask them for choice number agent will charge u with extra 2000 to 4000. Like they charge me 4000 for 585, in actual there is no additional fee for this number.
