Heartiest congratulations to all the new City owners,
Please share experiences of your rides.

I would like to discuss the discrepancy in speed as shown on the speedometer and sat navigation.
I have 195/60/r15 tyres installed which have a differential of 1% from stock tyres.

I have noticed that if I have my cruise set at 100km/hr, the speed shown on sat nav is 97km/hr.
It could be due to tyre change.

Can other owners please share their experience.

as far as i know. The nav doesn't get speed from the car and is calculated by the accelerometer in the head unit so yes it will show a variance of speed. as to which measurement is accurate that is a mystery.

Nav speed is from GPS, which should be the more accurate figure. The speedometer is kept a bit higher than actual, from what I have read several times in this forum, maybe as a psychological prevention measure for over-speeding. So your reading is about right for the speedo.

Own varies from city to city and also dealer to dealer and color availability aswell.

Everyone claimed City aspires own to be between 75k to 150k

In December when I started searching 1.5 CVT had a premium of about 80k and 7 days delivery period.

Since no had them, aspire CVT and 1.2 CVT were available readily on control price. If bargained would have got it under invoice value aswell. Those were also open invoiced cars.

Earlier 1.5 S was price 1.20 lack above 1.2 CVT which was a winner deal. Now i think it has crossed 200k difference. Aspire is another 300k higher up.

I can surely say City isn't selling as good as Yaris is.

And Honda is not doing justice by delaying booking of genuine buyers and selling open cars just like that.

I booked a City aspire in start of Feb. Waiting for invoice and registration. Me and @ammarzubair got it from the same dealer, a bit far away from city and got better rates.

Sat nav takes speed from GPS not the car.

Even if you use Google maps, you notice a variance of 10km/h.

When going on 120 km/h Google shows you 110Km/h

@chinyoti basic 1.5 and ativ x cost almost the same, i would suggest buying ativ x over basic 1.5 city with eyes closed. my suggested buying budget preferrence would be as follows

Picanto (better than alto/wagon-r/cultus/swift/alsvin basic/saga)
gli yaris (if and if strictly on a budget)
City 1.2 (Better that yaris ativ/alsvin lumire/swift - new one)
Yaris 1.5 (Better than city 1.5 - considering features city 1.5 does not justify its price)
Aspire (altis 1.6/brv are slightly bigger. Altis - cabin and boot space is almost the same, city leads bigtime in terms of features and feel of quality)
sportage alpha (wont consider grande/civic oriel/- out going models -- elentra/mg HS/stonic n0 potential resale)

Faran of PakWheels busted the myth of leg space difference in Yaris and City. Yaris has much much more space in the front as its front seats go much much further back. It would be appropriate to set the front space equal by same person and then check rear space of both cars. PakWheels concluded that both City and Yaris has same leg room (excluding the Yaris Armrest of-course).
Rear leg room is not an independent entity, both Front and rear leg room should be considered simultaneously.

Bhai i checked both cars before buying. Sat in driver seat adjust as per my comfort then sat behind driver. Yaris me my legs touched back of driver seat. Not in city. I am 5.11

We have a Yaris in my close family.. both are bought on my recommendation. Which was based on City delivery timelines and the wait and inconvenience I was facing while waiting for City Aspire last year.

I was of the veiw that Yaris is available in 30 days. Offering more features and have Toyota reliability. So it will be a perfect buy. In fact if back in April May if delivery time was less for Yaris I may have opted it as well.

However after driving Yaris, when 1st time I have driven City Aspire CVT there was a significant difference in drive, comfort and overall interior ambiance.

Shape is personal preference, so leaving it a side some major differences I have feel
1. Seats size. City have bigger seats compare to Yaris.
2. Driving position. Due to height adjustment and telescopic steering adjustment, driver can set it as per his comfort and ease. Yaris with no seat adjustment and only 2 way steering adjust make its position bit odd. I'm 6.2" and don't like any of Yaris driving adjustment. (City seat has less back adjust but it's enough for a tall person as well, unless agar app car laate Kay Chalanay Kay shokein na hon)
3. Driving feel, torque and engine response. I'm comparing city 1.5CVT (havent driven 1.2L). It's transmission, engine response and pick is much better than Yaris 1.5CVT.
4. Back leg room, air vents and bigger seat make it a comfortable ride at the back.
5. 3 people sits more comfortable at back seat of City in comparison with back seat of Yaris.

Now while making decisions, some factors can effect buying decison.

1. City or Yaris is going to be your primary car or it's a 2nd car for local drive and duties. If it's a primary car, and budget is not a contraint, I would select City. If it's a 2nd car, considering Toyota resale, lesser price with more features, I may go Yaris ( not considering shape here).

2. Current wait time for Yaris is 30days and own is 100k( yesterday a friend bought it on own from faislabad. In Lahore they are asking 150k on Yaris) . That may be another advantage to go for Yaris with shorter delivery timeline.

3. Yaris has a better resale as compare to City. That's a fact, so if someone is concern about resale than may be Yaris is a better buy.

How can you say you are going at 120 and not 110?
Your speedo is more likely to be inaccurate than the GPS on an open road with strong signals.

In the end it matters both are for different audience e.g Yaris/XLI is/was designed for rent a car business or urban /corporate rough travelling where as city by name is city car .had the pleasure of driving all 4/5 cars in last 5 years ,Yaris is practical with little bit things requiring small adjustments ,city being 4/6 months away and Honda practice of insider trading is difficult to attain ,how ever driving wise Honda engines are as good as any German/Toyota ,the real name of the game is availability which clearly Yaris is a winner .Its called managing the needs ,Yaris is a need and Honda is a want so difference is clear from here ,you pay for want extra like bread vs burger both fulfill

Andhe ko b nazar aa jaye ga k City ki seating space zayada ha Yaris sa. So many Biased comments abt City are circulating on youtube and should be just ignored. City has equal resale value as Toyota. No difference at all. Bus elevation ka farq tha dono ma q k toyota ko kachay pakay ki gari samjha jata tha zayada ground clearance ki waja sa. Ab City ki b ground clearance zayada kr di gai ha.

I might be wrong but I think it shows your phone battery level which you have paired...

SIM slot is at the back; the whole console needs to be opened for SIM insertion.

gari lene se pehle me dono ki test drive li. even besides that mere dost ne abhi yaris li he. har haftay ka milna he seating space is not the same.

Yes, I do detailing part-time on weekends at home. I apply coatings as well. I am based in DHA 2, Islamabad.

Here's one of my recorded work. This city came in for paint correction, paint touch up, and deep interior cleaning last year.

I could record just the exterior detailing due to time constraints.

the honda guys mentioned to me that after hardeing of coating you dont need to use a cloth ever. just use water. i plan to use service stations so should i tell them to just spray and let the car be without wiping/drying? also what about using car shampoos?

lastly. would investing in a pressure washer be worth it?

Adjust the front space exactly same as that in City (not per your comfort) for proper apple to apple comparison of space.
