Yes no doubt Elantra 2.0 is very good. But 1.6 with lower power engine and many features taken away and such a high price just doesn't seem attractive at all. Especially when low mileage gently used 2.0s are available for the same price.
I'm pretty sure I was in sports mode and the acceleration was definitely good and better than 1.5 city. But it didn't make it seem like 1.6 will be good as well. 2.0 seemed adequate.
Btw Elantra 2.0 got another price hike but 1.6 didn't. Seems like 1.6 is definitely not getting much sales. Considering the features, 1.6 Elantra should've been same price as regular 1.6 Altis and not 1.6 se. But with recent price hike of toyota it's now closer to regular 1.6 Altis.
