I never said I drive at 30-40 on expressway. Nor did I do that in the video until I hit the traffic. During heavy traffic, I try to drive at 60 and when the roads are empty, I drive at 80 which is the speed limit for that road. Other than that, I never ever use first lane until my speed is between 70~80. Or sometimes when the middle road is moving too slow, then I use first lane only to overtake then move back in the middle asap. My rule number one is not to let anyone go in pain due to my driving behavior. Road safety always takes precedence over fuel economy.
I should have stressed these rules in the video. Trying to achieve better fuel economy doesn't mean driving slow. Sometimes driving too slow give you poor fuel economy like driving at 40 on highway.
I don't think the technique I explained is complicated in the video. It's a slight modification of drive with load. I modified it to better suit the CVT. I use this technique with Suzuki AGS in its original form. That video shows only one technique which I use. There are many others which I use.
I would like to clarify one thing here. I don't do hypermiling to save fuel. It's a benefit I get automatically, but the main reason is I get satisfaction when I break my own previous record. This is just like some people like to race and compare each other to see who is faster. I have been doing advance but safe hypermiling for a long time when the fuel was cheap.
Yes, there's a limit to every vehicle, but hitting that threshold is challenging, which I like to do. I know I have shown highway in the video. But just to give you an idea how crazy I am about this is, I achieve 28.5 kpl (on the meter and with manual calculation it's 2 kpl less) with Alto AGS for school pick n drop on GT road. I will try to come up with a video for the short trip as well.
