I wont quote any sources or individuals. I just have an opinion.
Companies put in investment and then get the ROI from charging an extra amount for the product. They dont burn through their extra reserves(previous profits) to set up a new assembly point and then not charge a premium amount from the consumer for it.
As per the financial statements made available at this forum some time back there hasnt been a large investment by Atlas which could back a new assembly line for 7th Gen city. Therefore it is highly unlikely that 7th Gen would come.
In case there has been an investment in the assembly line then their statements are not giving a true and fair view (which is highly unlikely) and have been window dressed. This is highly unlikely.
We all agree on one thing that Honday City 7th gen would have been a great game changer and raised the competition bar really high when it comes to the sub compact sedan category. But please remember this is not a monopoly anymore. It is an oligopoly.
The new enterants will join hands with the previous big three and become paitee bhai.
Majority of the consumers in Pakistan want a shape change from the previous model. There are least concerned with which generation is coming. I am not talking about the Pakwheels community.
When the city gen6 comes, it will be booked my investors/individuals in large amounts because of the City brand which has developed a niche for itself regardles of Generation.
I would still want atlas to delay the launch by a few months but atleast bring the Gen7. But this seems wishful thinking. Though i would like to be pleasantly surprised as i would want to book one immediately.
