I don’t know why all these companies have started taking bookings without even a proper launch Honda are doing it with the city Toyota did it with the corolla X and Fortuner Revo facelift and Hyundai did it with some early units of Elantra

Classic supply and demand economics. Those dealerships with good ties with insiders in the company are willing to make a profit out of the situation. There is also the supposed "lack" of production capacity which In my opinion is artificially created. I come to this conclusion because the current Govt's new car scheme for foreign Pakistani's claims to give a 50% decrease in delivery time. That makes no sense, if there is a backlog of car deliveries why is there the "special" offer to get them cars sooner than people who have already paid money for a booking in process. Wouldn't that be favouritism or a sheer cover-up for the status-quo 's incompetent, ill-planned policies, vested interests and callousness? All in all, this tells that there is a hierarchy that is being exploited due to our plethora of socio-economic and political instability problems, that has been going on for many generations at this point.

I have come across this social media news in circulation about booking of “ Honda City New Shape". People are asking is this true?

Please don't handover your hard earned money in hands of anyone asking for "PRE BOOKING " even IF that someone/ anyone is representative/employee of a DEALER and taking booking on company's name . Don't book a vehicle which is NOT officially revealed or released by the Car Company [ Honda Atlas in this case ].

Even if a vehicle is released, DON'T book a vehicle until you see it at dealership. Honda Atlas have launched a TWITTER account recently, and they should inaugurate it by officially clarifying this information so, that public remain protected against any adventure.

OR

Should I say that the company themselves spread such news to create an artificial hype in the market before any official launch of the product. This can cause an intentional supply demand gap and resulting the same Black-Marketers ,Premium mafia coming into action before the availability of the product to genuine customers.

Yes, the booking of the current Honda City is closed but this does not mean you close your eyes and handover Pay order even at company’s name , any token money or anything in advance for something you haven't even seen.

What does the word “NEW SHAPE” means ? , what it looks like, what are the features, how much does it cost ? In simple words , even if a vehicle is released, DON'T book a vehicle until you see it and experience it in person at authorized dealership.

Unfortunately there is no government agency and regulator who can look in to these issues and sadly our people are also part of all this problem.

Even when you buy a trouser, you go to the try room and check it if it feels good, fits perfectly and only when you are confident, you buy it.

Didn't Atlas started taking bookings for Civic X without showing the car? It's a habit of sorts.

However, I do agree that the information should come from Atlas itself!

Yes and I made an issue of it back then as well. Also same was the case with BRV.

If the company is not taking further bookings they will focus on clearing the previous orders.

Company isn’t taking new bookings they have some aspire MT 1.3 MT units left which they are offering on ready delivery as per my info

Taking bookings without revealing the Product means You are not confident enough obout your product and it won't be beneficial in the long run.

Taking bookings prior to any announcement or launch means the company would use your money to start production.

Same thing happened with 10th Gen Civic. Almost 5000 bookings (of 1 millio each) took place without a single delivery in sight.

Companies put this money in the bank and earn interest on it. Simple. They are ready to prepare a batch of vehicles which they will deliver by following the trend of previous orders (colour, trims etc). Forecasting and customer surveys are done for this.

Bad practise.....but hey.....everyone is here to earn money. They might as well do it this way.

People will still buy the new city regardless of Generation. City caters to a niche urban market which no matter how much Yaris tries, cannot win over. Alsvin still has a long way to go to prove its mantle.

In pakistan the opposite is true. They are confident that they'll get a huge number of orders anyway so they do the absolute minimum.

The sad thing is that people are still going to buy the 6th gen, which will be a win win for Honda Atlas anyways.

There is no 1.3L option in both 6th gen and 7th gen. Very unlikely that new launch will have current 5th gen L13Z1 engine option.
