At the end of the day it always, let me repeat always boils down to the ones pocket. Fuel economy, insurance, maintenance cost etc.

Looks wise yes, corolla is much better looking but when one is spending their hard earned money and space isnt their major requirement who wouldnt opt a car with digital climate control, car with traction control, hill start assist, cvt transmission etc in comparison to one which isnt giving all this.

This isnt a yaris and 1.6 altis thread hence we shouldnt start here.

Lets focus on city......i myself would have crossed over had they given a proper 6th gen facelift in 1.5 aspire. Led front lights, sunroof, cruise control and features that are given in yaris. ....but thats my wishful thinking

This city will be instant hit despite being an old generation , sold like no tomorrow in india. Yaris is an awkward looking car , though feature rich. If honda city comes with even 2/3 features less than yaris , it will beat yaris in sales.

Since indus motors has goverment sales quota. Just like Picanto cannot out sell Cultus, Toyota raaj will remain.

But City will have good sales. And lead the segment

Not expecting any extensive Improvements in the suspension since 5th and 6th Generation City is almost same with a newer body.

You seem to have some personal issues with yaris i see.
Try driving it once, it's a million times better than the brick suspension you drive.
As a fellow pakwheeler mentioned, comfort and suspension are the main things about a vehicle.
I owned current gen city for 2 weeks ( my back broke ) and a grace for 2 years. Grace doesn't have good suspension either, i only used it for intercity driving. So the next gen will be the same. When you look for a car you look versatility, yaris can go anywhere, bumpy roads, rular areas what not.
Idk why you have so much hate against yaris.
But its outselling everything right now and it will continue to do so.
I happen to keep one for sometime and was amazed at how much comfort it provided.

Bhai is tarah sirf keh dainay say koi cheez dosray say 1000 times better nhi ho jati. You have to see the ground realities. Altis 1.6 has only one practical advantage over Yaris Ativ X, that is space. Otherwise, hr cheez mein Ativ X uper hai and many many people are preferring it. I see so many Ativ X on road. Looks wali mentality hr kisi ki nhi hoti. Comfort is a very big factor

People preferring Yaris Ativ over Altis 1.6 because of wait as Toyota is producing more Yaris to establish it and reduced production of Corolla.

lol - bhai app dil per na lain . I only said its not a deciding factor for everyone. Of course its a factor people consider but safety and features are far more important for a sensible person.

I like how the new City constantly gets compared to the Altis 1.6.

Both cars are in a different league of their own.

Please only compare Yaris with City.

Please refrain from defaming Yaris, as it is a good car, and many Yaris owners here are humiliated for their purchase.

Keep the competition healthy as we've not witnessed the new City to pass a verdict in regards to its performance in Paki roads & sales as compared to Yaris.

City Old gen (GM6) here in Bahrain is for 3,999 Dinar. That makes 1.6million Rupees. New Gen (GN1) starts at 5400 Dinar. Whereas Yaris starts at 5,600.

Mind you the GN1 is made in India that is being exported to Middle-East. Whereas the GM6 was Made In Indonesia. The quality difference was great.

So please note that it is not true to say that City is priced above Yaris. globally. Globally people have option to buy much better car at much lower costs.

Eg. City Starting from 5400, Civic Starting from 7000 and Accord Starting from 8500 Dinar. There is no day and night difference. incremental steps. HRV for 6300, CRV from 8500. So City is not a dream car nor is yaris some fancy vehicle.

These are low cost cheap econobox.

Yes still cheaper than Yaris and still less sold than Yaris. They have the stock and this price promotion is on since last 5 months, new shape only got launched in March. Still they have been unable to sell at 4000. this is almost the price point for Picanto

Actually I live in Pakistan, where this freaking econoshit box cost 3 million. A definitely a dream car for alot.

I agree, the point is that it is not made as a dream car, It is an econobox. So expecting miracles from these cars is unfair with these vehicles. The manufacturer has kept it basic lets keep expectations also basic.

Thats true, Honda usually gives better shape whereas Toyota gives better specs in Pak (like in civic & grande case) in the end its subjective which aspect will one give importance to.
Though specs for 6th gen aren't revealed given Honda's history in Pakistan its gonna be less than what's Yaris is offering ( I hope I'm wrong). People are already disappointed that its sixth gen, right specs might elevate it.

You have to consider the full indian market. It is highly competitive and both corolla and civic are not very successful cars there proving there are better options available for that price. On the other hand city does extremely well in that market proving its the best option there for that price and obviously superior to the yaris. Yaris in pak has the advantage of some lets just say less educated class people being like toyota or nothing, so yeah it will probably not fail, but I bet new city would sell much better. Yaris is a pretty pathetic car from the inside out and as a corolla 1.3 hater, I hate to say that I kinda miss having the option of corolla gli now.
