When dollar rate in Dec 2019 was 154 ...then prices of Honda were from PKR 2,309,000 to PKR 2,699,000..........

Dollar rate nowadays is 152.25.......so if they add 1 lac in the price the Apsire 1.5 CVT should not be more than 2,799,000 or max 2,850,000/-

1.2 seems like a weird choice considering 1.3 in 5th gen already felt kinda underpowered, especially with the auto transmission. Considering the negligible difference in fuel economy between 1.5 and 1.3 in 5th gen, it might not have a fuel economy advantage and might even be at a disadvantage cause of being underpowered for the body size like the 1.3 corollas. Probably only doing it to get under the 1300cc tax slab, but its main competitors are all above the slab. Tax reduction is gonna be an advantage compared with the others, but it's gonna feel severely crippled, especially with honda's shitty sohc i-vtec system completely murdering torque under 3000rpm. I really hope they at least give it a 6-speed manual to alleviate the situation a bit like with cvt improving upon the crap prosmatec a bit.

Yes as a rule with dollar going down prices should be the same as they were in end of 2019, but this incompetent government wont look into this matter and regulate pricing in auto industry as they say they will but never act upon it! I dont expect anything from the upcoming budget either

Naya Pakistan......what a disappointment.....i remember in 2017 u could have bought a Civic Turbo for 28.5 lacs...........no pay increase....and prices have sky rocketed.....

3 saal sai intezar mein hain kuch acha hoo gaa......lakin kuch naa hoaa.....bass batain karwa loo TV pai bheta kar ain incompetent logoun sai......

Aik police constable ya patwari ko tou theek na kar sakay.....hahahhaha...

Car manufacturers ke prices yeh khaak regulate karain gai......

The main issue is that people here keep on buying no matter what. They have even had the guts to increase prices without currency devaluation happening and received no backlash whatsoever. I remember originally when dollar went up to 165, prices increased accordingly, but no change when it went down. Then it went up to 165 again and we got hit with another round of price increase again and now after it has gone down a lot, there has been no change. Another factor here is the unfortunate mentality of many of our locals. The companies realise that if they decrease prices, the previous buyers are gonna get very pissed and they might lose them as customers. Plus constant price increases help assure no depreciation which our awaam loves more than anything. You can check the phone discount posts on xiaomi's fb page and check the reaction of previous buyers. One airlink's rep once told me that they never bring new iphones cheaper, or even at the same price as the old one even though it may be cheaper in USD msrp, to assure the good resale value of previous iphones as they are supposed to be "luxury products" which never lose their value like they're Rolexes or something. I have seen many people who bought cars before price increases get super happy cause their cars are gonna be worth a lot more now, not even considering that the car they might buy after is gonna be similarly increased in price, so no net gain whatsoever.

Yes lol a 3 million civic was deemed as extremely overpriced. I remember waay back in 2014 when the 11th gen corolla launched and it was overestimated to be launched at 2.7 million (actually topped out at 2.4) and everyone i told was like won't sell a single unit

City 1.5 Aspire price would not be less than 31.5 lacs ...without freight and taxes...

might cost u 33.00 after taxes, registration and freight....

as 1.6 Altis Automatic Cost u 35.25 (after taxes and registration in Islamabad) .....and Yaris costs almost 31.5 lacs after all the taxes and registration....

and there would be NO price decrease..........IMF would not allow them to reduce taxes on cars....as cars are considered a LUXURY in Pakistan........90% pakistanis can not even afford a second hand Alto 2005 which costs around 5/6 lacs.....

so u rich people....just CHILL with the expensive cars....lol

They actually used to be decreased back in the day, like before 2016. I distinctly remember the old gen fortuner getting a huge discount and wagon r also getting a 1lakh discount before the careem/uber days, when pretty much no one bought it. There was no dollar decrease in those days either to expect car prices to decrease.

Edit: Just remembered, in 2017, I was getting swift for about 50k discount brand new ready delivery with some cheap optional extras for free as well from mini motors.

I don't think they'll price it that much above yaris. Especially considering that most of our awaam have started to fall for yaris despite what most people (including me) thought.
