Despicable and they say that price at the time of delivery will apply. Does this mean that Suzuki is now following KIA's scandalous strategy? People who are still waiting for their Swift deliveries, will they also be affected and bound to pay this new price?

am i the only one who gets a lecture from the tyre inflation guy at a pump for the recommended tyre pressure? Suzuki recommends 36 at the front and 32 at the rear. They recommended 33 in the front and 36 at the rear for the old swift. Every time the guy filling the tyres says, "ye gaari bahar k liey bani hai pakistan k roads k liey nahi". but i feel gone are the days that each car should have 30 in all 4 tyres.

You are right, Suzuki recommends 36 PSI for the front and 32 PSI for the rear wheels for the newly launched Swift.

Maintain the proper tire pressure for better fuel economy and avoid early wear & tear of your tires as well.

I am also filling the recommended tire pressure in Swift, i.e. Front 36 PSI & Rear 32 PSI.

Make sure that you reduce the tire pressure of the front wheels to 34 PSI before traveling on the motorway, especially in the summers.

Why reduce?
At high speeds it better to keep tire pressure on the higher end

the logic is, since youre going on a motorway, at a constant high speed, your wheels will heat up more. as they heat up, the pressure will increase. and it will increase more as compared to city driving. that is why its recommended to fill your air pressure when the tires are cold and the last thing you want on a motorway is ur wheel bursting from the built up pressure. hence, 2-3 psi less than what is recommeded on long journeys

The tyre structure never gets failed due to excessive pressure.

It faild due to the heat geneneration. This heat is genenerated when the pressure is less, the side walls get more friction as the rubber tends to bend on side walls due to less pressure. Then revolving at higher speeds increase friction in that area (as rubber tend to bend) this causes the tyre to fail.

Hence air to be filled when cold to the specs defined by the manufacturer. Dont keep the tyres under-inflated.

Also to keep in mind that tyres that are under-inflated will heat up more rapidly than the types that are inflated with the correct pressure.

I always inflate my tyres in the morning in my own garage with portable 12V air compressor and this gets the best results. I do this in every 7-10 days.

Even driving to the station to fill tyres that is 1-3 kilometers away makes the tyre increase air pressure naturally due to heat so if you top the pressure from that point, it will not be accurate as the air inside the tyres has already expanded and increased its pressure which will get lower once the tyres cool down.

Usually, the air compressors at local fuel stations and tire shops aren’t properly calibrated. After filling the air from various tire shops, I do cross-check it with a digital gauge. There is always a difference of +/- 2 or 3 PSI. Mostly some extra air is filled than the recommended tire pressure.

Reducing tire pressure on the motorway improves traction and enhances the braking power as well.

I have used a thermal gun and a thermal camera to monitor the temperature of tires while traveling on the motorway (M2) during the summers. Based on my personal experience and knowledge, I will recommend reducing the tire pressure by at least 2 PSI to get better traction, handling, and braking power.

I will highly recommend everyone buy a reliable digital tire pressure gauge to check their tire pressure before traveling on the motorway during the summer.
