Bought it for the current invoice, in current scheme it is the best new car for 50 lakh. Go for swift over city 1.2 cvt if you can sacrifice boot space and armrests. Other than that, its an overall better car with "shashkay" like cruise control, traction control, parking sensors etc.

I am comparing it with 1.5 aspire city.
I am getting a slightly used one [15k driven first owner all service record in warranty) by just adding 2 lacs more
On road price of swift is 52
I am getting aspire 1.5 city for 54

Please guide

Preference plays a big part when comparing these 2 cars, hatchback vs sedan. 54 is a good price for city aspire if 2023 model. I honestly prefer the look of swift and its the same shape globally unlike the city which is a generation behind the global market.

City is better.. no plastic rattling which is way too much in Swift PKDM. The paint quality is absolutely rubbish by PAk Suzuki and lastly confort and pleasure of sedan is much more even if u ignore legroom and trunk. City 1.5 has much better lower end response as well. It does lack some features though.

Fuel economy swift will be slightly better

Otherwise City has more room, trunk.

Tough choice as Swift is also a good looking car however a hatchback for half crore my mind simply can’t digest..

2.9 million rupees (launch price of swift) in March 2022 was around 16,000 USD.
Half a crore rupees is still around 16,000 USD and that's if you're calculating via interbank. Open market it will be 15,000 USD. So it isn't just the value of the car that has increased, our rupee has lost ALLOT of its value.

However I still wouldn’t pay half a crore for a hatchback. Better cars easily available in this category.

A good condition used Grande or even Civic can be had, which is a miles better car owning and diving experience.

P.S I don’t mean to disheart you or criticise your purchase, some folks prefer a brand new zero meter car and that is also fine. I just disagree with it if I can buy a slightly used higher category car in similar price.

You would only just about be able to obtain a 2017 Civic/Grande with 50k+ kms driven with no service history. Buying a used car is a risk but in Pakistan its ten folds riskier!

if one can compromise on trunk and can use the car with rear seats folded for occasional bigger items to carry around... Swift is better than City... City is just a bland boring sedan to drive in city .. just a ... "meh" sort of a car !!

but if trunk or rear leg room is preference, then City for sure.

50k is fine, nothing for a Corolla. But yeah one has to inspect the car first, if no major issues it’s a good buy.

If city is boring then what is Swift?

A 0-100 in 3 seconds Tesla with the ability to self-drive?

It’s probably more sluggish than a 1.5 Aspire.

Both are kind of boring and most cars in Pak are including Civic.

Only new players like Haval and somewhat MG HS has cool features that are new to us.

Rear legroom on both (Swift and City) I've found to be similar. Rear headroom is better in Swift.
