Swift is dead even before launch if it’s priced above 2.8 million top spec.

Yaris is a far far better option at 2.9 to 3 million.

And there’s even Honda city which is overpriced at above 3 million but still an option for buyers.

Swift is not a choice for everyone. People who want hot hatch are the potential buyers though less.

These " hot hatch " enthusiasts are very few.. I felt this when I had to sell a 2010 swift , and also while selling a very very clean aqua 2015.

actually there are more hotter hatchs like Aqua when you go above 3 million. Vitz hybrid 1500 cc is about 3 million. this is valid if you are this hot hatch seeker for majority they will simply opt for a sedan in this price range.

1.0L Vitz sells for 2.8 million. Which is competing 1.3 Yaris and 1.2 City.

But 3.2 million is outrageously bad pricing.

The price of upcoming Swift's top-end variant is supported to be somewhere around 3.0 million at max. Anything above that will simply issue a death warrant for the newly launched Swift.

I do prefer a hatchback over a sedan but not that much stupid to purchase an over-priced hatchback. Again it is too early to say anything about the features of the top-end variant and the price itself but 3.2 million is not a justified figure.

I know that the fully-loaded version of the upcoming Civic will have a price tag of 6.4 million, but it will have a lot of features like traffic radar, etc. along with the laser-welded roof.

I may purchase Swift if the top-end variant is priced somewhere in between 2.9 – 3.0 million.

Well said, even my friend suggested I better purchase a sedan in this price tag.

The reason behind launching an outdated generation in Pakistan is to save money on die stamping, molds, parts, etc. while Suzuki is phasing out the 3rd generation of Swift globally.

At 3.2M it should have a significant performance gap compared to the sedans. I don't think that's the case though. I have very low expectations, I feel like will still be disappointed

One can rather get a clean used facelift grande in that price

its been quite a few years since I have read many times on PW before a car launch claiming that certain price bracket will be death warrant, death before launch and what not. nobody actually cares, from all the people lingering on the forum, may be less than 2% are actual buyers, rest are either there for just the information or the enthusiasm. most of us are like that. if swift is priced at 3.2M, it will still match the selling expectation of suzuki. we can claim all day that certain price range is a death for a brand, but by the end of the day, the harsh reality is that cars are getting expensive and getting out of reach.

3.2 million for a hatch. Lol. I was planning to replace my vitz with this new swift. But it seems that replacing it with a newer model of vitz is a better idea.

I am failed to understand the business mindset behind these decisions. Globally companies like these goes for high volume sales model by lowering their margins. Pakistan is a decently sized market if a product is priced properly.
