If you have used a steering lock, its definetly void, Call PakSuzuki. And tell them to get you in touch with a senior, not babies sitting in the call centre.

Dealerships usually avoid warranty. But if u can reach to the right people, They will beg you to come and get it fixed.

Sir nothing helped. Even emailing to higher ups. I ended up paying the mechanic there and getting it repaired instead of replacing it since it was making really annoying tuk tuk sounds.

Am I not doing something right or is it terrifying to drive the Swift CVT variant in stop-and-go traffic?

When increasing acceleration the transmission suddenly downshifts and launches the car, and when letting go of the accelerator, the car doesn't decelerate until half a second later, forcing to use of brakes.

I did made sure everything was right from tyre pressure to filters. Using sport mode and RON 95 petrol didn't really help either.

Update: Drove for 30 mins and checked the transmission fluid level, it appeared full but with some bubbles. Checked it thrice and there were still bubbles appearing.

Update 2: Checking through various forums, the bubbles in the dipstick is claimed to be normal for CVT,
unless it's a regular automatic.
This time I tried to be as steady as possible with both the accelerator and the brake which mostly solved that jerking issue.

Drove for about 5000KM, one trip to Skardu as well. It easily gives 17-18KM/L on highway at 100KM/h speed and 16-17KM/L at 112KM/h cruise.

It all depends on the driving style and how much you push the pedal for instant speed. Combined average for my Skardu Trip (2270KM) was about 16KM/L. This includes 1200KM of mountain driving including Babusar pass.

For highway driving those figures are not impressive.

My 1.8 Grande easily gives 17-18km/L at 100 speed. Same at the 112.

It’s the congested city driving where Swift should shine and some numbers claimed by others don’t seem to be true.

Driving habits and road conditions are different for everyone. Swift can do 20KM/L but you have to be gentle.

I consistently got 23-25KM/L on ALTO AGS at highway speeds, for the entire 3 years of owning one. Not many believed, but that is achievable.

I believe 13-14 is very good in city, considering fuel quality and city traffic along with constant speed breakers.

In my case swift gives 16+ easily on the same route where my aspire cvt gives 12. It does well in city driving.

Swift is not very impressive on highway but it returns good average in local drive.

My local drive is free of traffic, speeds of 60-70K. no stop and go, car is close to 2000kms now. With AC set at 26, light foot it returns 13.5 kmpl. Haven't been able to crack that yet. Dash shows 17kmpl.

I used to think the same believing some unbelievable numbers posted here.. but looks like the reality is different.

The actual mileage city driving is close to 13 to 13.5 km/L. Still not bad, but far worse than outrageous numbers like 16-17km/L (which might even show on the odometer but doesn’t appear to be accurate like @pwuser153796752163 said above).

I also have a Civic X, danda mileage without AC is 10, with AC is 12kmpl, with very realistic and reliable range numbers. Does not deviate even a bit. Shows the difference between the two cars, and what extra torque and good engine management can do.This car's range isn't even reliable. Just today, it showed 36kms remaining. Drove maybe 7 more kms (albeit at slow speeds), and it shows 0 now. I tell people it's just a bigger Alto.

Good fuel economy can be achieved in any car, just be gentle, driving habits do matter. My Swift has ODO readings of 5510KM at the moment and average it showing as 19.2KM/L. Realistically, 17-18KM/L is achievable on highway at legal speed limits.

I say so, because with 3 cars, I consistently got good averages, for example even with Corolla 1.3 Manual (underpowered car), I got 16.1KM/L on a 2350KM round trip to China Border, Hunza. 4 adults and luggage, calculated by total fuel I used. Similarly for ALTO AGS, 22.3KM/L on the same trip same router.

Driving style and different roads are main factors, most people maintain their cars well. Also, fuel quality.

I’m talking about congested city driving. That’s where things completely change. Even with very gentle driving a 1.8 within city with lots of braking and congested roads will not give above 9-10km/L. For the same conditions some were claiming a Swift does 16km/L but that doesn’t appear to be accurate.

Salam everyone. I am in the market to buy a second car. I am considering two cars. Toyota raize xs and swift glx cvt. So wanted to know which one is better in terms of comfort and suspension performance on rough roads.

I've travelled 398KM yesterday, out of it 90KM was in the city of Lahore with almost an hour of idling. Used 21.7L of petrol, highway speed maintained 100KM/h giving me about 18.3KM/L of fuel economy, ODO meter shows economy of 19.7KM/L.

Not going into numbers in deep, it's well established that driving style, road conditions and fuel quality are the major factors behind the fuel economy and its effects.

Fuel average is all about driving style. You need same driving style and same road conditions to compare average.I personally dont need trunk so shifted from Yaris (full version) to Swift (full version). It has been a great change. I am getting allmost 20% better fuel average than Yaris in City, but in motorway driving at 110-120, fuel average is almost similar, i.e. roughly 5% difference only. Surprisingly, Swift seems more stable at higher speeds than Yaris.
Better fuel average, cruise control, 6 airbags, retractable mirrors, seat height adjustment, better headlights which are also auto, rear fog lights, rear wiper, better tyres (stock), and much better looks for exterior, interior as well as meter are all Swift's plus points. For front seats, cabin space and leg space is similar in both.
Though I do miss better suspension, mileage/trip record keeping, and manual gear mode of Yaris.
