They've effed things up by increasing ags cultus to 2.5m which naturally means they'll need to price this 2.8-3.2m

Still a solid car for urban driving, volumes will likely remain the usual 150-300 units a month.

As per the latest available information, Suzuki will start selling this car by the first or third week of April 2022.

Suzuki has sent the locally assembled units for an endurance test to Japan.

are they bound to do that? i never thought suzuki would ever send locally manufactured stuff to their Japanese counterparts. Japanese would be laughing their a*s off, imagine paksuzuki sending Mehran, Ravi, bolan for endurance test to japan.

yes, I know that, but imagining japan wanting to test endurance of crap they are selling here is very hard to believe. yes they are earning from here, yes they have high-up officials in PS, but I doubt they care about whatever quality PS is selling here, and therefore, my friend, I don't believe they test PKDM Suzuki's for endurance. I hope you get my point.

Well for your knowledge then,

3 Units of Alto were sent to Japan, and 2 or 3 Units of Swift have also been sent to Japan by air. Probably to decorate them at some museums.

it appears all they do is decorate as with every passing year PS quality is getting in the drain. if any valuable feedback would have been received from Japan it should have been reflected in the quality of their product. so infact a useless effort by PS in my opinion or may be driven by the policy which they have to comply.

back in time when Swift was launched, it wasn't a cheap car at that time too..

i remember at time also ppl used to say "thoray se aor paisay daal kar city le lain, etc." .. yehi kartay kartay 10 saal nikal gyi purani swift...

the rinse, wash, repeat cycle will continue like that again : )

but swift was actually priced lower than city as far as I can remember. but now it appears that swift will be priced equal to city or yaris. TILL THE TIME the other two gets more expensive and the swift's price will be automatically justified then.

Firstly, i don't think it will be priced equal ( comparing the top end models or base models of each car accordingly)
and secondly, this can very well be on cards.. the other two will increase prices to create that premium price gap among them.

I have installed 185 65 15 size tires in vitz and ground clearance issue is gone.

does 185/65/ r15 tire not scrape ur car? on turns or on bumps?

as per Japanese manual 175/65/r15 is the max they recommend. But if 185 is also working fine in r15 then seems good.

how did u choose the new 15 inches rims?

Yaris is the one who is actually entering or killing the hatch back market.

Just like Sportage pinned Corolla and Civc when it was launched, Yaris with its base variant even makes Cultus and Picanto run for its money.

Because 4 years later Yaris would win. In terms of durability and Quality and resale.

City 1.2 seems right because their was no effect of FED increase on it, else City basic was pricier then Yaris too.

They are usually the ones to bomb the sedan segment but it is highly probable, they already have faced similar situation when they launched Wagon R but that was more of a shape preference problem.

when Suzuki launched Vitara,

Swift & Vitara are different segments / class of vehicles.
you may know one is a 5 door hatch back while the other is mid size SUV.

features in terms of interior & infotainment may have something in common where as mechanically both are different category buildup. The Price gap & customer base is very well apart.

SWIFT CKD (power train) are sourced from 2 different countries - Thailand & Indonesia.
Body Shell & interior is shipped from Japan

carefully speaking SWIFT will not reach the desired number of sales at that price bracket.

Sedans are loved and always a 1st priority in Pakistan.

hatch 5 doors are "dilemma" when it is about price bracket.

Yaris, City & Alsvin sedans will kill this Swift in single blow.

I agree to you, but if this was the case Vitz sales would have had a hit, Vitz and Passo are doing equally good.

Specially when all local hatchback bookings are closed for infinite periods.

Their is a category that prefers a decent / Premium hatchback skipping entry level sedans.

Altho many people won't call Swift Premium but till date in all local offerings if you sit in Swift after sitting in Alto, cultus, wagonr, Picanto Swift does feel nice to sit in.

Cheap seats, low leg room, cheap quality that comes later.

I remember when Saga and Alsvin came I was of the view I would never buy a Suzuki again.

But I just got a cultus because of service back up and brand value.
