Can you comment on build quality compared to city and yaris?

Cannot say anything about the paint as the car was very much dirty. Interior quality is fabulous and much better, especially if compared with the newly launched Honda City. The seating is very comfortable and the plastic trim is very premium.

I cannot say anything about Yaris, as I never had a chance to ride it.

Well thoray sy paisay tau nai thay. Got city in 2010 at around 13.5 back then the swift was around 9-10 i think, in my opinion that is a significant difference.

i mean that would still be the case more or less, one would still think yar aor paisay daal kar City na le loon ?.

General thought - Can we expect a flop from Pak Suzuki in the hatchback segment?

suzuki is already successful in hatchback segment (i.e. cultus and wagonR) primarily due to no competition from the other well-reputed brands.

Swift is a different category hatchback. It would be bigger and better in all aspects than other local hatchbacks.

Not sure at the moment but I think I will get the top-end variant of Swift by Monday or Tuesday. Price is somewhere around 3.1 million.

At that price you can get the top end Yaris which is better in all aspects ..even Honda City.

I understand you want a hatchback but I guess Suzuki wants it to sell in low numbers.

Two things Yaris will be better would 1.5cc engine, and definitely much better seating comfort and space for both front passengers and back passengers.

Unless space is equal or above Yaris, this is definitely not worth it.

Wouldn't the 1.5L engine Yaris be expensive than Swift ?
Gone are the days when Swift was known for lesser space, you can check reviews also, the new Swift is surprisingly spacious inside, but on the contrary Yaris is not much spacious inside especially at the back seats ...
however, again, we'll find all that out in a couple of days now.

Yaris and City’s top-end variants are above the 1.3L category. Mean 50K withholding tax at the time of purchase for tax filers. Registration and yearly token tax are also expensive. The on-road price of the Yaris top-end variant is around 3300K while the price of the City top-end variant is around 3600K roughly.

The top-end variant of Yaris lacks cruise control too. I do not like Toyota’s policies. My friend wanted to book Yaris for his family, and the dealership wanted the registration fee and insurance money in advance. Every dealership in Lahore has demanded the registration fee in advance. Even they didn’t provide us an option to get the car registered by ourselves and get the delivery later on.

Yaris and City have a delivery period of 3 to 4 months at the moment.

Right now, I am using Cultus VXL 2021 (manual). I want an automatic car, with a reverse camera (factory fitted), cruise control, foldable side mirrors, traction control, hill climb assists, rear wiper, etc. I have a compact parking space in the garage, though I used to park City Aspire in it. I travel towards hilly areas a lot. I don’t like aftermarket accessories or modifications, that’s why I haven’t installed the reverse camera.

So, I think Swift is the perfect hatchback for me given the fact that I will get a priority delivery and everything will be under the 3.2 million bracket. Fuel economy will be a plus point too over Yaris and City.

Swift has cruise control.
That’s the only positive I’m seeing which isn’t in Yaris.

Rest are mostly shashkas. Yaris is bigger, has more power, and is surprisingly fuel efficient.

We can’t say swift will beat it in fuel economy by a significant margin.
As for safety, a hatchback body in an accident is less safe than a bigger body car.

Both are made according to todays designs so have crumple zones etc.

If swift really has six airbags then that’s another positive.
