The same case happened to me as well, the dealership didn’t inform me about this registration policy in advance. The moment my car arrived at the dealership, they demanded the registration fee in advance before handing over the vehicle.
Yesterday, I called Suzuki Helpline, the person who attended the call first told me that it is the Government policy. When I requested him to provide me with a reference to this Government policy, he put me on hold. A few minutes later, he told me that it is Suzuki’s policy.
In the end, he told me that this practice is being followed across the country. When I told him that there are a lot of Swift available for sale with different private showrooms at Jail Road, Lahore (even a lot of friends at PakWheels received their vehicles without registration) … he replied, he will discuss only my case. Not anybody else!
I am not going to buy any Suzuki products in the future.
