Exchange wali gari to kabi b bagair registration k nae deinge. To make sure the exchange car goes to the right owner.

Else alot of dealers would get in to this. And register exchange program cars to second and third owners.

PS : Belive it or not, their is a law for not driving unregistered cars. Showrooms cannot deliver unregistered cars.

And unregistered cars can be confiscated too.

First of all, they are following the same practice for the normal booking cases as well. It is my fourth car in the exchange program and for the very first time, I have been forced to get the car registered through the dealership.

Secondly, this practice is being followed for the Swift top-end variant only. If there was any such policy in place, they were supposed to tell us in advance about this policy. How will you justify an extra 10 – 15K being charged by the stealerships in the name of services charges for the registration?

The owners of the newly launched Swift are already getting calls from their respective dealerships for compulsory scheduled maintenance and checkup.

Service charges are only 2k which is charged by dealership. It’s clearly mentioned on the bottom of printed paper on which we get registration number & payment details from exise.

i paid 5k service charges for a Corolla registered at rs. 110,000 (paid 115,000 with Invoice of 110xxx)
i paid 3 or 4k service charges for Cultus registered at rs. 26000 (Paid 30k with invoice of 26xxx)

Even banks charge rs. 4000 as service charges for registration. Personally atleast i dont have the capacity to take my brand new car to civic centre get it inspected and then get it registered.

Either pay at exercise office to avoid bringing in your car or else pay to dealership.

Anyone charging you 10 or 15k you need to ask them what is the justification for this.

For Corolla Toyota showroom asked for a cq for registration on the day of booking. (through some reference i by passed it) but in the end i got it registered / Insured from them only.

For Cultus the dealer asked 30k on top of difference amount same day.

By all this im not endrosing that this is correct.

But their is no other way. Encouraging no delivery without registration is no problem for me, Infact by law a car should not be allowed on road without registration and Insurance.

Dealerships./ Road side showrooms selling cars on open invoice or unregistered are investors showroom and dealers know about them, They purchase a good quantity of cars and also share premium amount with the dealers.

i paid 5k for registering an alto from dealership, just had to got for biometric, rest everything done by dealership.

Is your engine still heating up randomly?
Have you brought this up at the dealership. A heat up is unheard of in new vehicles these days.

Though I am not an expert but will try to explain the issue as per my understanding.

The fuel injector of the Swift is injecting more fuel into the combustion chamber than its actual requirement resulting in the engine overheating, misfiring, and a noticeable lag during the drive.

Yes, I took the car to an authorized Suzuki dealership, and their mechanic performed the test drive and saw the temperature gauge and engine over-heating problem. I didn’t let the mechanic open the spark plugs or any other thing as he didn’t have an OBD scanner with him.

That’s what he told me as a possible problem:
1. Faulty spark plugs
2. ECU problem
3. Fuel injector malfunction

Honestly speaking, I’ve almost spent PKR 75K on OEM accessories imported from abroad. I was so much excited about this car. But now I am planning to get rid of this faulty car and get Honda City instead.

I will try to sell that car as soon as possible before its market value goes down due to these known manufacturing and technical faults.

Here in Punjab, you don’t have to take the car to the Excise & Taxation office for registration unless you have made some modifications to the engine or the chassis of the vehicle.

There is no law in Punjab to restrict the delivery of an unregistered vehicle from the premises of any dealership. Either way, my grievance is that I was not informed about this policy at the time of booking the vehicle.

More fuel would have a cooling effect on the engine. That can't be a cause of overheating.

If more fuel is being poured into the combustion chamber and burnt, how can it cool down the engine?

Read about AFR. More fuel (Rich AFR) means a cooler combustion chamber. More air (lean AFR) means higher temperatures. Desi ustaad ki baatein chor dein sir.

As I said, I am not a pro. But I have an engine overheating issue which could be a result of faulty spark plugs, ECU, or fuel injector as told by the mechanic.

I think the car has issues with the spark plugs. these engines take the iridium laser plugs as far as I know and Paksuzuki might have cheaped out on them.
I think the issue would solve after spark plugs are changed.
the knocking you have mentioned can predominantly be caused by faulty/off spec plugs.
these are pretty long life and expensive plugs, or they should be. do let us know the outcome when the dealership changes them or something.

A clogged fuel injector (hard to believe in a brand new car) could potentially cause overheating or detonation. A leaky injector (or spraying too much fuel) will cause poor fuel economy and other issues but not overheating.

The morons at Suzuki should diagnose the issue and fix it for you!

Rich mixture lets fuel sit on the cylinder wall that cools down the cylinder.
But it will also take the moisture of oil away with it which increases in wear.
Faulty plugs cause misfiring and detonation results in overheating.

Suzuki has recommended changing the spark plugs every 10,000 KM or 8 months in the official maintenance manual of the Swift. Is it normal to change spark plugs every 10,000 KM?
