Hey Pakwheelers!
By the grace of Allah I received my new Swift GL CVT. back in May 2022. Have driven it around 3000km and so far I am really enjoying the drive, its so powerful with lots of grip and such tight handling.
As I live in Karachi and recently the rains have washed away big patches on pretty much every major road so now I have to drive over huge potholes on a daily basis. It really breaks my heart to hear the torture the suspension must be going through so I am wondering if I should switch to a thicker profile tire.
Currently, my car has the stock 16 inch alloy wheels with 185/55 R16 tires. I am thinking of switching the tires to something like 185/60 R16 or 185/65 R16. Not really sure if these sizes are even available in good brands such as Dunlop, Yokohama, Bridgestone etc.
So what's your take on this guys? Will it make a positive difference if I switch to a thicker profile tire? Will it make the ride softer and somehow the tire sidewall absorbs a small proportion of the force when the wheel hits potholes?
