Hey guys.... i really need help..

I got sum japanese rims with tires 215/45 r17.... frm a frnd at a good price.... can i get them on my honda city 2003 exi???? i askd sum guys at alloy rim shops but they said, no dont get thm on rather buy 15inch frm us nd shit thn i tried to put thm on myself, jus to try but they touch the body whn fullty steered inside

wht should i do?? how the hell ppl get 19inchs on????

I dont think anyone has 19" on a City!
But people do put giant wheels on their cars, often by increasing their height.

But dude - a general rule for replacing tyres is stay within 3% +/- of the original diameter. I think City 03 came with 13" rims, stay on 13s, or get low profile 14s.

17"" bhae awal to they wont be a perfect fit, secondly mayb tyre size calculations wud help you, thirdly 45 ki profile,,,, ul cry every other day a flat tyre!!!! or a wobling tyre

Id recommend keeping them until you get a car suited for 17". Otherwise sell them (if you need the money) and get decent 13 or 14"ers

hehehehehhehehehe i cant beliv i was abt to post the same topic as i also have 17 rims with me but they arnt fitting m=in my car i have seena city in maroon colour with d15 under the hood if som 1 knows its from islamabad fully modified custom inteior n all it has 17 alloys in it fully droped i cant imagine how

plz if som 1 can shed som light on this inorder to solv the prob

Theres also such a thing as "different sized tyres"

Theres a reasonably big difference between 215/45/17 & 205/40/17.

In fact, 205/40 is 1.16" shorter! That could sovle the problem!

The other thing is if you increase the height of the car, and then install bumper extensions and side skirts, it looks like the car is really low...

Bro I got no idea. I dont even know if this size is even available But even if its not, just search for 17" tyres with lowest profile. And remember, the profile is a percentage of the total width, so if the total width is less and the profile number is the same (like 225/40 vs 205/40), the 205/40 will be much shorter.

my friend put 17's on his city,.. had to change his shocks and bushes at 14000km!!!

he's now on 15's.

don't go for anythign over 15 inch as there are NO advantages, only a harsh ride, poor economy etc. remember, function over fashion, not the other way round.

a friend had that exact size on his 05 city idsi.. messed up suspension and gave 0 comfort... the only advantage was stability... but there was no need of such stability...

the max you could go on a city exi is 15 if you really wanna spoil the suspension then i would suggest go for 205/45/15 .... by the way i have the same car and its still with the stock wheel caps on and i m using 175/70/13 Dunlop in it
