Are you using Dakota SGI decoder for the tacho ? . Dozens of m3's are now running toyota's heart with r154 and it does sit well. I guess the trans tunnel didnt need to be refabed as m3's trans is pretty much same and it has tons of aftermarket support too. Do share some bay pics
