well i've read this whole forum and i made my mind up that im going to do the 1jz swap already called my local custom shop and got all the pricing and i'm going foward with it. i've also noticed that most of the ppl with the negative coments are not or have never even owned an rx8 so they have no idea how unreliable they are. this is my 3rd motor and now tranny(mostly my fault) is going bad. i love the looks of my car just don't like the power.

well i did go a bit overboard about the bad handling of a 1j rx8 .... it varies a lot from swap to swap ... but there is sooo much that can go wrong with these swaps ... best of luck with your swap.

I recall my friend swapped a 3sge in rx8, it was a good swap but unfortunately the engine blew out cause of over torture. Otherwise I suppose 3sgte would be a good swap. Rest the experts would explain who are either born drivers or professional auto mechanics.

It seems that everyone is changing the rotary to a powerful piston engine. Just for curiousitys sake how would an rx8 fare with say 1300 cc piston engine? and would the 1jz do alright if not used for racing etc?

very naughty .... i knew my words were going to haunt me ... still 1jzgte rx8 is a pretty hard car to drive and it is difficult to control in high speeds on a busy road ... i stand by my words bro.

in a rotary engine an rx8 is an example of supreme engineering and sweet handling while a 1jzgte is more of a muscle car thingy :: loads of power difficult to handle
