It should. But the SIM that comes with MiFi is data SIM which means you can subscribe to Wingle/Mifi data packages. If you use ordinary voice SIM, you won't be able to do so unless you convert that to data SIM as well.

Besides, I have checked which networks Zong MiFi detects and it was detecting all 2G/3G/4G networks of mobile companies which means if you put different companies SIM, those might also work. I will check them when I will find some spare time to mess with such things.

Charji devices that require SIM can also be unlocked. There is a guy on another forum who is offering this service.

4 bars with just one less, n sometimes even that comes back
can you imagine on roof top i was getting 500kb/s, and exactly below that on first floor 3g vanished n it was showing 2g lol

You explained the problem yourself. Low signals strength. Mostly signal bars that are shown on screen are arbitrary. Actual strength may be quite lower.

Yeah, additionally you can place the device where signal strength is strongest.

To find a place where signal strength is strongest, you can also check signal strength from smartphones.

Settings > About device > Status > Signal strength (ASU) and Mobile network type.

Higher ASU = higher signal strength.

The signal bars just give an approximate idea of signal strength which is not always very accurate.

*Note:2G/3G and 4G have their own signal strengths. So it is always worth noting 'mobile network type' too. Test with mobile data on.

The screenshot attached shows 44 ASU signal strength on LTE network.

has anyone used an external antenna for any huawei device? i got one, but actually makes it a bit worse (only a bit). Not much info in general about this, maybe the firmware installed doesnt activate the external antenna.

What? I am no Zong employee. Do you really think we all are fools and lying who are getting really high speeds? Just because you are not getting good internet due to some low signals issue does not mean the service is pathetic.

lol didnt i say it gives good speed but on roof
so service wise yea its good but coverage wise it sucks esp when even 3g service providers r giving much better speeds than zong at the same spot so yea coverage wise it really sucks, telenor gives 10mbps, n zong just 1mpbs LOL

External antennas available in Pakistan do not work. I have tried with multiple devices and never observed slight improvement in signals reception. The basic reason is those antennas are not designed for correct frequency. Those are just regular aluminum molds sold for high prices.

There you go again. Call them and tell them to install an erect pole in your area usually known as "mobile tower". They might consider it.
At my residence, only Telenor has got strong 3G signals. Telenor has got good 3G speeds but not using it due to low upload speed. Zong is medium on ground floor. Mobilink as usual sucks with its fraud "poora signal poora pakistan" compaign. No Ufone 3G signals on ground floor. Warid also works fine with solid signals.

Zong is one of the best, for both 3G and 4G.

You have low signal problems. If the 3G signals are very low, the phone automatically shifts to 2G mode to maintain connectivity. This is what's happening to you.

Zong sucks in simple words (only in the area where you use it because of low signals).

You can try speedtest in any other open area.

Don't know why u have saying that but in my case these external antenna works. Before zong I m using evo wingle and getting 1mbps hardly with 3-4 signals installed vfone external antenna with evo using pin connector and I started getting 3-4 Mbps speeds with 4signals so it works.

Well i got the antenna from aliexpress and the specs do cover the needed frequency range. Maybe I just got a bad one.

Actually I brought vfone back in 2008 and signals in my house are weak so my father brought the antenna I don't remember from where he brought it. Then later used the same with evo.
