Try ##4636##. It's a universal code to access a hidden menu on Android through which you can set preferred network and even lock phone on LTE.

Dial above code > phone information > set preferred network type > choose from list.

This code may not work on Samsung phones. But you can try.

No rooting required.

Hello guys suggest me a good internet connection with unlimited download and good speed and should be economically...???
I am using the mobilink 3g since it launched and i was much impressed with packages and speed a month or two back...but now they have just ruined their packages and speeds...now they are simply pathetic...and now that's not for me..!!
i have opted charji cloud in my mind..now plz suggest me should i go for it or any other good and economical option..??

Unnecessarily rooting it for this simple thing is not worth it.

You can just lock the network operator manually and it will be more than sufficient. It is NOT necessary to do all that, its just for worst case scenarios.

The problem with this network operator locking is, if network is locked to zong, the phone will not register to any other network if another network sim is put, UNLESS you reset those previous network operator settings.

Yeah, warid users wil get 3g as well. I dnt know if Mobilink will be able to handle so many customers now.
4G services and call quality might not stay the same for Warid users i reckon.

This code also works on Q Mobile and other Chinese phones. I am sure it will work with htc and huawei as well. Don't have those right now so someone else may confirm whether it works or not.

So there is no "set preferred network type" option? This option is not much highlighted but it should be there. (I have got samsung high end phones in my home but my siblings own them and so they won't let me check or root those phones... )

After buying Warid, Mobilink will become biggest Mobile network operator in Pakistan. Handling such big network should not be a hassle as long as they keep all Warid employees and pay them well. Besides, after merging, they can shutdown unnecessary Warid mobile towers to cut the running cost. They can install same transmitters on Mobilink towers so they won't have to pay the extra rent for extra towers.

secret service menu doesnt works otherwise network type is already there in the settings, it wasnt there on the previous rom but its on my current rom

zong being 4g consumes alot of data
just watching one 45min episode on daily basis and regular fb etc consumed 37gb in a month

I think its a merger not an aquisition. Lets wait for the official news.

"unlimited downloads", then PTCL Charji is best.
