Good to know internet taxes have been reversed. But I am sure mobile companies are not gonna lower the tariffs because in Pakistan once prices goes up, it stays up.
Now it's the time for Dhandli Khan of KPK and Saeen of Sindh to remove these nasty internet taxes just like Ganja Bros of Federal and Punjab.

Electricity has become a basic necessity. Tell me you could live without it? So it should be as much cheaper as possible.

Internet is "not" like electricity. You can survive with slow or capped internet if you can't afford high tariffs. (No need to download pirated games and movies all the time)

Every carrier has limited bandwidth. Running network at full bandwidth means choking it for everyone. The only way to fix it is to buy more bandwidth which is not that easy and cheap in Pakistan because government wants to make huge profit by selling licenses for bandwidths. So mobile companies are also handicapped in one scenario and dependent upon approval and paying large some of money to govt. to open new doors to improve their service. Then they pull out all that spent money from pockets of consumers.

Even now, on each network there are many areas in Lahore where the signal turns to just edge / 2G. My bro was in Singapore and he had a 100MBps connection there and he says at very cheap rates.

In UK wireless companies are offering unlimited downloads plans for cheapest rates even cheaper than internet in Pakistan with double, triple speeds than we get here with wireless (50-150 mbps guaranteed for less than 2000-4000 PKR). But the people there act responsibly. They do not download pirated large stuff like games and movies during peak hours so network remains available for everyone. Here in Pakistan no body cares. People would just keep torrenting round the clock thus choking the network for everyone. That is why quality of service starts going downhill when more and more people join and take advantage of unlimited downloads or large volumes allocated to them. So, companies need to cap the bandwidth and protect their networks from abuse.

Just for testing dial ##4636## > Phone Information > Set preferred network type > LTE only, and check if it works on 4G mode. You won't be able to make calls on 4G only so revert settings to default to resume normal functionality.

I hardly get 2-3 signal bars but speed hovers between 2-3 Mbps. I am in Lahore.

Ufone speed has gone down very much (samanabad) as well as Mobilink. I ported one sim (jazz) to telenor. Now getting average 5-6 Mbps speed.

Your choice? Both are same in signals strength if u want a device with a battery as a backup then Mifi else wingle.
