I don't think so. I have an ancient Dubai SIM and 3G works on it when I go there so I'm assuming the same applies to Pakistan. So 3G/4G will work on the same SIM card.

@versatilegenious Check your phone! Make sure network mode is GSM/WCDMA (AUTO). I just got HSPA / 3G on my Telenor network. It keeps changing randomly from 2G (EDGE) to either the 3G, H+ or H icon in the notification bar. Here are some screenshots (from me):

P.S: The sudden signal drop happens when it switches to H mode.

Other Telenor users, check your phones! I think they're testing 3G.

The H signals have stopped coming now but yes it was showing significant speed gain. Facebook, PW were loading instantly.

On 2G it takes ages.

AOA brothers, i just want to get an idea that if 4 g is also launched with 3g then people will certainly prefer to go for better speed ie,4g , would then the prices of smartphones having 3g will go further down and same wasy cells having 4g will go up?

Just learned that Warid is going for 4G...

Previously they had plans to run away, but could not strike a deal with any of Telenor, Zong and Ufone and now they have decided to go with 4G and full throttle

How can they go 4g without permit? As in their equipment can support but they cant operate without 4g license

Of course they'll be bidding for auction if they have plans to launch.

This is not the speed of 3G but still better than edge -
It may get better soon as companies get it's official license.

It's not Stable, it last only 5-8 minutes then switch to Edge.
And again after some minutes it came back-
