3M Anti rust Undercoat/Rubberized Coating

Assalam-O-Alaikum

Hope everyone is fine with the will of Allah.

I have a Toyota Vitz 2015 model. I am thinking to apply Undercoat for my car because as the car comes from Japan and because of Salt and it looks a little rusty. So I need suggestions on

how much the coating is safe for the car?
Will it actually prevent from rust after coating? because I have seen reviews and people mentioned that car actually get worsed after coating

If anyone guides me, either I should go for a coating or not?

Yes Bro I live in karachi. Itni zayda rusty nai hai. I am just taking as prevention step. So thats why I ask.

@imhaseeb_khan200 sir you need to coat the car's underside with a rubberized undercoat. The Best Product is 3M else ICI, Berger and many other brands are available at Automotive Paint Shops.

The Procedure is simple but will require a day atleast:

Steps:

1. Take the car to the service station and get it serviced from underneath (dont spray any diesel or oil)
2. Cover all the rubber suspension parts with plastic and tapes it properly so no undercoating can reach the rubber else it will damage the rubber parts over time. (This is the most important step)
3. Ask the service station guy to apply 3 coats of undercoat. the Undercoat is made by mixing it with Petrol. and 3 coats are quite enough. give atleast 20-30 mins drying time in between coats.

Covering the suspension rubber bits and if there is any wiring exposed is the most important job here! and this procedure will prevent rust for atleast a couple of years.

Thank you for the proper guidance brother. But I have read some reviews that Undercoat actually worsen the rusting after some time. So is it just a myth actually true?

Also I have contacted a professional namely Bubbles Car Care reside in Karachi. They are charging me 12000 for the undercoat. Is this price reasonable?

12000 for undercoating what?

It is an Easy DIY. My brother. If you do it properly nothing will happen for a couple of years at least. Remember to make sure the car's underside is dirt, oil free and dry so the paint can adhere to it..

ONe thing more. without seeing the rusted part, can say anything. for example you might not need of it or find nay other solution for that.

I used ICI on my lancer in like 2013 when I absolutely new nothing didn't even covered the suspension and wiring. Worked quite well. Now the car isn't used much so have paid that much attention but still rust free.

These won't do the job properly these are spray cans and will cost you alot. These are suitable for wheel arches but not the whole car. Go to a good Automotive Paint Shop ask the guys there. You can check Auto Pharmacy at plaza, Karachi too.

And yes share a pic of the underside of your car. May be it is just surface rust and you don't need anything.

Can it be done in fotwell for bolan? Is there any product available that can be applied by brush? Like more thick coat compared to sprayable one?

So this is just Anti rust coat but not a rubberized coating am I correct? I can easily apply via Paint Brush

Yes paint brush or by machine.

The major cost was the undercoat I don't remember the price now but with in 2500 these days and a Quarter tin is enough.. paid the the service station guy a 1000 including service and spray. My car was under restoration that time so didn't cared about the suspension because I had to get it overhauled later..

But you will need to wrap the rubber parts of the suspension and any wiring underneath. By a roll of common kitchen plastic and some masking tape max 250 total..

Spray has a bit better coverage but your is a bloan with complete flat underbody brush would do fine.
