3sgte engine swap with 2c gearbox FWD

This windy morning, i got a chance to drive my Manager son's car, was a normal car but with a beast roaring under the hood..
The ride was EE90 2.0 Diesel..
When i poped the hood. The engine was swapped to 3SGTE mated to 2C diesel gearbox...
Is this possible, becoz i also own a 2C diesel, the gearbox of that EE90 was too much fimilar to mine...
So my question is 3sgte can be mated to a 2c gearbox...
Similarities are both the engines are tilted..
and my secong question is
what the engine weight of 2c and 3sgte?

Gear box is a bolt on fit. And S engines are derived from C engines. Xulfiqar has to confirm about this.

yep - C and S are the same bell pattern and share most of their stuff. The reduction ratios are engine specific tho.

the engine is 2c... The engine side foundtion is need to be modified!??
And what the weight difference between this engine which is heavy the diesel or petrol?
And can i LSD the gearbox from any local gear box dude?

Yes the 2c gearbox can be mated to the 3sgte. I bought a couple of engines a while back and both had 2c gearboxes with them. You can use the superb toyota e153 LSD gearbox with the 3sgte which has a very high HP rating. Your 2c gearbox wont last long if you mod the enigne for more performance.

2c's gearbox is fragile when you talk about powerful setups and as it was made for diesel engine application that's why the gear has short ratio's and we prefer long ratio's in a boosted setup.

Thanks Sammad and Immad for your reply. The rav4 96 model has 3sfe engine FF configuration and manual transmission. Now, I have to look for a 2C-turbo FF config also to replace the 3sfe. My question now is, have you heard of anyone who has done this. It would be of great help if I will be guided in this project. Actually Iam hesistant to start because well it involves big bucks...hehehe. Rav4 3door with a diesel engine is very very good. Thanks again......

I dont see why not. It should be a pretty straight forward swap since both engines are FF you dont have to bother about transmission tunnels, diffs, shafts etc. I dont personally know if anyone has done the swap but I am sure you will find plenty of information on forums regarding this swap. Also you can get advice from your mechanic on the complexity involved (engine mounts, wiring etc etc).

AoA, I hope you are fine, I am facing an issue in engine swapping, please guide accordingly.
as you know I have a mazda 808 with a 2c diesel engine & manual gear installed in it. finally got my hands on a 3sge with manual gear. my mechanic is saying that the 3s gear is bigger than 2c gear hence have to chop off firewall to accommodate the bigger gear (which i do not want).

My questions for you are
is their any difference between both gears as i heard c & s series have same gears?
can the 2c gear be coupled with 3s for space saving?
if not, can a auto gear (small in size if any) be installed for space saving?

you most probably have an early 1C gearbox mated to your engine and the tunnel would be hammered in. The problem with mazda 808 is that it was never made for a piston engine, its made for rotary engine and in rotary everything sits very low and is quite small too.

The original 1.3 litre piston engine for it also sits a bit forwards to the gearbox can clear the bulkhead properly. So to accomodate fatter transmissions, you need to broach the floorpan.

i do not want to damage the firewall as my mechanic is insisting that 3s gear box is bulky as compared 2c gearbox already installed in mazda and can i couple the 2c gearbox with 3s engine with much hassle?
