Believe it or not, we were 27 people (yes I counted) in total traveled through whole Shountar valley (from Kel to upper domail) on a topless CJ5. We were hanging all around the jeep. Around half of the people were standing inside the jeep and rest half of the people were hanging outside the jeep on both sides and behind it. Hr ksi k pas bs itni jga thi k wo bs paaon tikka le ksi trah aur baar ko paker le mzbooti se. Also there was so much luggage inside jeep and people were standing over luggage. And condition of tires was beyond imagination, they were worn out and as flat as a balloon. Ksi ksi jga se tires ki inner layer expose ho rhi thi which is used to make soles of pashawri chappal. It was July 2009, and very few people knew about shountar valley and chitta katha lake that time.
@offroad you can imagine the conditions easily as you have driven to shounter valley and been to chitta katha lake too, I saw it in a thread of your on pakwheels.
Khair, Interesting thing is that everything went fine when we were 27. But next day on our way back to Kel on same jeep when we were only 5 guys, right-rear tire got punctured. Driver changed it and spare wheel was horribly worn out and was swelled from few points. Driver requested us to hang outside on left side of the jeep to shift load. But after traveling a couple or kilometers it got punctured again and night was approaching. Khair phir aik jeep aa hi gai and driver borrowed spare wheel from him and we managed to reach Kel in night.
