LAHORE: Pakistani US citizen Moin Khan, who is travelling across the globe on a sports bike to promote Pakistani culture got into an accident in Germany.
When Moin left Munich to continue on his symbolic journey, it began raining on the Autobahn Highway, which is famously known to have a ‘no speed limit’ policy.
Even though Moin was cycling at a slow speed and the rain had stopped, while taking a somewhat sharp turn the rear tire of the bike slipped on the wet road and Moin rammed into a roadside barrier. Luckily, Moin was not hurt in the accident.
A few people stopped to help him and told him not to move until the ambulance reached there. Moin, while still lying on his back recovering from the accident gave a police officer his camera and requested him to take a few photos of him while he was down.
Moin commented on the accident, saying, “The gear saved me. If I had not been wearing proper riding boots, helmet, jacket and gloves, I would not have survived. I can almost promise that.”
This incident, however, was a minor setback to Moin’s agenda. Having rested for a night to recover from the accident, Moin was back on the road the very next day to finish what he had started. staff report
