4afe or 7afe or 4age?

the question is.....
i have a ae92 and i wanted to convert it to an EFI engine.. now i like any other person wanted a 4age 20v or a normal 4age.. but as i found out there are VERYYY limited parts for it..... so i then came down to a 4afe or 7afe???

any preferences between the users of this panel??? and can anyone tell me how to improve the S****** flow of the F series heads??
plus the 4age engine.. 16v... parts?? available in other cities or not?and expected life?? hard driving once a week???

if u really need some serious power....i recommend 4AGE 20V BT....!

4AFE is a good mid range setup which offers power and peace of mind, it's not as highly strung as the 4AGE but delivers similar output (a little less). Since it is not so stressed it will last longer with abuse as long as you keep the fluids in check (and temperature)

my car is a diesel by the way for now... i was really interested in a 7afe because we have a 7afe powered 86 here and it beats crap out of hondas and also a 20v silvertop..
i am a self titled speed freak having owned a turbo suzuki fx and a d15b honda accord with extensive work but i sold it and now i find this lack of horsepower in toyota engines a little disconcerting!!! whats with no Variable valve timing?? and alsoo... people who are more in touch with the toyota engines...
the 2 litre 3s engine?? worth it or not??
am attaching a pic of my car.... its a work in progress! and yeah the hood is painted BLACK and it SHINESS!

I would say a 7AFE over a 4AFE, more torque and a bit more hp too ... and more displacment.

That 7AFE you mention, I remember reading on this site that it has a 20v head swapped onto it, in effect being actually what the call a 7AGE ... its not a Toyota engine but by mating the 4AGE head and 7AFE bottom they came up with this name

why the change rora?? why did u change from the st to the 4afe??? and ST... i was thinking but i want to modify my ride in the future and i think lower compression ratios will help my own cause a lot more??

aargHhhh!!! sorry everyone.,. was away for a while... ok... now i throw another engine in the mix!!!

the 3c turbo diesel.. 98 horsepower, 152 lb/ft of torque as compared to a 4afe.. having 110 horses and almost the same amount of torque...!

now tell me.. the prices are the same if i get the diesel or if i get the 4afe and get it gassed ( yeah yeah.. im a student so laugh all u want )

@ palay.. alaka can i get a drive in ure car?? i need to see how much difference the 4afe makes???

my conversion to 4afe is complete.. ill upload the pictures tomorrow... its running great with minimal problems!

taueef: according to Toyota Specs you can search on this website if you wish 7afe cannot beat crap outta any 4age,, leave aside a 20v silvertop.

the silvertop you experienced was probably a wasted engine or badly tuned.. a proper tuned 20v in same car as a 7afe can easy walk 7afe long distance just in quartermile

i wont further argue why what when how,,
trust me these are facts, stated by Toyota.

note by: for all members using "afe" engines and want to extract more power by using turbo etc keep in mind afe series is light weight aluminium engine block and will crack at one stage when using for race purpose.. the "age" iron engine blocks were designed to be used for higher rpm range. the most complicated engine is agze engine which came before 20v was discontinued due to certain issues which Toyota never bothered to fix. but agze engine block can handle highest power compared to all 5 versions of ag.

anyways the 4afe is in the car now so nothing can be done about it now!! maybe ill trade it in for a black top later. yeah right haha
