why cant we have presorted swaps - meaning fully sort out the wiring before plugging it to the engine so we can just plug and twist the key. And levin, its quite shocking that you say that some input parameters (O2 sensor input) is not important. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT.

The ECU will never allow closed loop mode and not unleash the full potential of the engine.

The correct working priority should have been that to measure the wiring harness clamps and lengths in the RWD bay, then extending/shortening parts of the wiring and tracing and connecting each and every wire correctly while the "denter ustaad" placed the engine.

Specially For 20v BT ECU....O2 Holds A Significance As Its Quiet An Intelligent ECU And Even W/o Single Sensor....It Changes It Behavior...That's My Personally Tested Stuff With BT ECU's.
VSS O2 IAT Holds Much Imp Somehow.....!!

Any japanese Denso or NTK sensor can work on it, whether its a flange type or screw type - it should have 4 wires on it and the heater circuit on the sensor should show 14 ohms. Dont use a bosch one as its heater circuit is about 2 or 3 amps.

Any modern spec EFI engine requires an exhaust oxygen sensor or trim pot to work efficiently, otherwise better live with a lumpy and goofy engine.

When diagnosing such a problem the TE2 terminal is really handy - it makes the ECU really sensitive to errors, I have used NTK threaded O2 sensors on many engines, Toyota 1JZ, 2JZ, F series, 4AGE, Mitsu 6A12, 4G63, 4G92 (both Mivec and std) Honda B16, H22, F20, F22,

I have never faced such an issue unless the sensor was actually bad. How did you connect it up? It makes a difference if you dont use the system ground (E21) wire from the ECU to refer it.

While Attempting My 1st Efi Engine Wiring D.I.Y...Everyone Around said same.....U Will Fry it...Blown It..But I Know Exactly What I Was Doing.....Still People In Karachi And All Over Pakistan Knows How To Swap Motors But When it Comes On Wiring.....No One Put Hands On Them....!!! If They Do...They Don't Know WTH They Are Up to And What's Needed To Make Thing Running right

In My Case I Think O2 Was Wired Correctly But I Think Heater Was Busted Or Something Bad Inside Cause Issue...!! I Get It Used....possibly Its Busted

For OEM Denso 4 Wire...

(Black)One Heater Wire = HT On ECU
(Black)One Heater Wire= +12v (+b)
(Blue)Signal Wire=OX On ECu.
(WHite)=Sensor Ground

There are two separate ground circuits in the toyota ECU, one is E01 (thick wires) and one E21 thin wires which provide ground to 5V circuits. They are joined together at the mounting eyelet on the engine but it does have an effect to be run separate. I know this because I have made quite a few harnesses from scratch and joining E21 to E01 at the ECU or in between caused some noisy operation.

I do mechanical stuff myself and there is no alternate to the level of satisfaction u get. Hit and trial, doing it wrong first time and messing things is all part of learning. Same is with electricals. Research, Study, diagnose, plan and attack. Chances of going wrong gets very low if u do initial stuff properly.
