4age silvertop vs 3sfe?

salam all i have got an opputunity to swap either a silvertop20v or a 3sfe so i need your opinions with reasons?first hand experience will be appreciated.also can any1 tell me the reliabilty of these engines?which is better overall ?ive heard tht tht silvertop is over-rated ,ive also heard tht the 3sfe is more reliable..share ur opinons please..

20v isnt for people who dont know it.

3s all the way ... its a better daily driver , 20v is way way overrated .... 3s is a bullet proof engine

i own a 1995 3sfe corona. I think its a nice engine. good torque,good power, good fuel consumption. In ur case it depends on what generation 3sfe u r getting. I would recommend the latest gen with distributorless ignition. they are great. u dont need premium fuel unlike 20valves 4age. u dont need to rev it hard to get power. I would definately recommend 3sfe in ur celica over 20 valves.
i have driven factory 20valve levin (blacktop not silver stop). and as u said the really are overrated.

@tauseef thank u for the feedback justed wanted to know a little bit more things how much fuel does the 3sfe in ur ride consume?and if u had to say an approximate figure about the hp of the 20v versions how much will they be since u have driven both?and any idea how much does fuel will the silvertop consume compared to the 3sfe since the 20v is vvt and i think the 3sfe isnt?

realistic fuel consumption in city is around 10-11kms/liter and 13-14kms/liter in highway. can sometimes get 16km/l as wel. i dont knw abt the Hp. specs say they are 160-165hp but thats when they were new and at the flywheel. i did a dyno on my one and it was 100hp at the wheels. the fuel consumptions would be similar except the 3sfe would be better due it is narrow valve angles. yes the 3sfe doesnt have a VVT as compared to the silver top.

very different power bands, one engine requires that you rev its blood and sweat out to make power while the other is a lazy but strong mill.

is 3sfe or 3sge available in rwp/isb? Are parts like timing belt available? Also what about 7afe regarding engine availability and parts? Which of these 3 engines will be best fuss free for my corona 1995? Currently it has 4afe but power is less...
