yea i m also there... same nick... i was planning this swap for quite long :)... every time i choose an engine it wasnt here in pakistan...
i m not sure abt 1.6 Lancer ... havnt driven it... but this engine got some potential... 4G18 wd be with CVT right!!

@its_me : running the 4g63t on fwd will result in a lot of wheelspin, we mitsu ppl are lucky that we have an option of awd, but that is if we have the differential. But even if some one has the diff, it wont be easy to fit provided that the rear frame of the car is not designed for it, so yes magas mari hai in short. I've been reading on forums about galant vr4 for quite some time now, many ppl are running the 4g63t on fwd reliably. I bet ur lancer can do wonders with a fwd 4g63t setup

no doubt :)... 4G63 is a great engine... even NA wd be a lot...i ll prefer non trubo for daily driven car...

Hi all,
pls help me with one thing... the engine i got have two exhuast pipes with three bolt connector...
whereas the stock exhuast piping ws with 2 bolt connector...
so i got the twin pipes from engine merged into one to fit into the stock pipe underneath the car...

shdnt it be causing more back pressure to the engine... how can i check it??

shd i change stock exhuast piping to a bigger one may be 1.75 or 2.0... or just change the stock silencer/dholki with bigger one may be from some diesel car...

any suggestion??

Please dont use any diesel pipes. Get new ones made and post some pic of the new engine also the underside of the car

Proton wira comes with a 4G15. You can check its exhaust setup

buksh... i was thinking of only the dholki from diesel... not the whole piping... if changing the piping that wd be definately new..

saqib bhai... wira has SOHC 4G15 12v... wonder if it wd be the same ... ll try to check its setup anyways...
there is also lancer with orignal 4G15 DOHC (CK2) but i wonder if there is any around here...

i had lancer 1990 and now i have 1994 both have same engine bay. exactly the same . now i have seen your car has every thing on the other side as compared to mine. gear box , battery, timing belt ...why it is so? and what if i swap 4G15 in my 1994 lancer?

thanks... well dont know the exact reason but 96 -97 onwards mitsubishi ppl decided to turn things 180 degree... making things diffcult...

you have an option of 4G15 for your car as well... not this engine but of same side as your from prev models... one that i have seen here are SOHC 4G15 12v ... but besides 4G15 u can easily find a 4G93 SOHC or DOHC... that would be a good fit in your car with least modification... i guess all you need to do is to move one front mount a little... infact for your model there are more options in market then mine... if u are lucky enough u can also find a 4G63 SOHC or DOHC from galant...

@omarmumtaz : if ur in karachi i can help u get a 4g63 soch carby n efi both.. + if ur planning to run it on cng then few of them have a factory option to run on cng which basically means they run better then a normal petrol engine.

stock exhuast size for 4G15 DOHC is 1.75''... mine is 1.5''....
so i ll be getting it done to 2.0'' in a while... have to gather money meanwhile...

2.0" should be good enough.

btw, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe things were rotated by Mitsubishi under the hood to improve stability and weight distribution.
The DOHC 4G63 also has the same differences between the Eclipse and the EVO.

both the designs seem equally good... wonder wats the exact reason...
may be getting in line with other manufactures as i think all others were having right side engines by then... but i doubt just this reason wd have initiated such a change...

can you please post some details of 4G63 on factory CNG... i believe there are some proton or hyundai smaller engines 1.6L probably in market which have cng as default fuel...

none of the mitsubishi 4G63 engine have cng as defualt fuel as per my knowledge

@its_me : there are quite a few 4g63 at shershah with builtin cng option, but yes all those are sohc silver top not dohc. I havent seen any dohc 4g63t at shershah with complete stuff that is ecu and wiring.
