4G93 Swap (Lancer)

m looking for dohc 4G63 n/a which came in some asian countries n UK.....just a simple swap for my car n it's 140bhp not bad for daily driven

@salik : stock 4g63 dohc is if i remember correctly rated at 170 hp n/a .. but its not an easy find, which car do u have btw?

i ve 2005 lancer 1.6....well it's 140bhp..u can check on the mitsubishi uk website......i think u talkin bout 4G92 mivec which is rated at 170bhp

@ salik : believe me i have orignal vr4 articles which started the 4g63 they all say its 170hp stock, may be uk had different version with small injector or something, u have a new car y put an old engine in it.. it wont be the same u know, wont be as reliable as ur car is now

4G63 NA never came with 170hp!...

It is 140hp. I'm pretty sure.

Salik..do you think you can find a not-very-old 4G63 in pak?

@salik : oho i meant if u get a 4g63 it wud be atleast 10yrs old.. no ones that lucky to get a new 4g63.. yes its most probably bolt on in ur lancer, mitsu has the advantage of everyone bolt on from other mitsu cars but what i mean was that u wud get an old engine.. yes it wud be great power, u wud be ripping many many cars on the streets.. btw i wud be going to malasiya in july to hunt parts for my galant and get a 4g63t if budget allows me, i can get one for u also if ur interested

NA 4G63 SOHC is surely arnd 140hp...
i believe 4G63 DOHC from EVO with 550cc injectors and froged piston is like 170 hp... n 4G63 T frm EVO is like 195 +
(subject to correction)

the person i bought engine from in rwp told me that he is importing a 4G63 from malaysia in a couple of weeks...
but i guess the most tricky part with this swap is the gear box... converting AWD to FWD...

@salik : i know salahuddin pretty well, i have the 91 model galant, salahuddin sold his galant few months ago and is now working on his colt.
@its_me : gear box is not an issue, you can mate most of the mitsu gear box on 4g63t its very simple. Even the gearbox ur running right now in ur lancer can be fitted on 4g63t if the bell housing is not too small. If i swap a 4g63t in my galant i wud be running the same gear box i am running right now with 4g93. Actually the tricky part is with the ecu itself, you have to make sure that u get the right ecu, he might be giving u a 4g63t of 92 year which is rated at 240hp (the engine having 510cc injectors and a 16g turbo ) but he might be giving u ecu of 88 model which was rated at 205hp ( engine having 450cc injector and a small 14B turbo ) This ecu thingy happens a lot. You would have to refer to the ecu number and check on the 4g63t charts to find out which year it was produced in and with which variation of 4g63t engine.

@salik : yes sir hes going to put the vr4 engine in his colt.. i wont like to disclose whats going on with the colt my self i'll let salahuddin explain it when hes done with it

@spectra : i wish we could have a mitsubishi owners club in karachi but it wont be coming true in the near future. 1) Not many people own mitsubishi. 2) People who do own dont know much about its heritage. 3) Very low number of people keep their mitsubishi in good condition or atleast try to. Im talking about old lancers, galants and pajeros not new lancers or evos.

i really like that 97 lancer but its very rear car in pk and who owns does not sell it one i came up with a idea to get the 97 shape and put a evo 6 body kit and i have my self an evo LOLZ

sure any gearbox can be matted with 4G63T but the thing is that how long it wd work... can it withstand that much power...
otherwise u wd be changing the GB every 6 months... may be this is the reason ppl lock rear differential and use orignal 4G63T GB on FWD...
anyways it wd be a very intersting swap...

@its_me : yes thats the only reason why im worried about swaping a 4g63t, the gearbox, even without the turbo the engine throws a lot of torque.. i dont wanna change my gear every 6 months.. lol too costly + if it happens shershah would be out of mitsubishi gears soon cuz there arent many in the first place haha

@salik : all the 4g63t are not complete here..they dont have the ecu even. You cant find which gear is from eclipse.. even if u match the gear model with a gear chart of eclipse, i dont think u will find one and if u do it wud be $$$ expensive, and it would take few days at shershah and it would be very messy reading every mitsubishi gear number, too much khuwari in short
