Go for 5w30 . Go for either Zic X7 5W-20 or LiquiMoly or any reputable brand. I'm personally using Zic X7 5W-20 in my Civic and having no issues at all.

Sir with all due respect I was driving both times in emergency. That's it. All I said was that 5w30 oil reduced coz of high speed.

Simple story. I drove towards Multan at 160-180km/h cruise on and came back in june during afternoon. Faced 600ml oil reduction instantly on total 5w30.I changed oil in Lahore and I went to rahimyarkhan in june around 12pm. Drove consistently on 160km/h with cruise on and faced 800ml oil reduction on fresh oil.I have poured 0w40 Mobil 1 in the same car and at 7000kms with two long trips, oil is at full mark on dipstick.

Can you provide some technical data to proof that 0W-40 is not good for 2ZR-FE? Because @haseeb.basharat exprience proofs all of us wrong as 5w30 was reducing in his car and 0W-40 is not reducing.

We should have technical data to support our claims. Because its a common opinion that if engine is pushed to its limit maybe thin oil will not provide the protection and company's are going to thin oil for claiming better mileage by compromising on engine life. I read these thing on US forums.

2ZR-FE is built to run an oil with a hot viscosity not more than 9cst at 100C (ideal being 7.5). going higher will severely hamper oil flow to parts like the VVT units (they are hydraulic and require a good volume to work smoothly)

The lower end also has very tight clearances due to this requirement. The ring pack on the pistons also have a lower viscosity requirement but a low activity oil to make it run clean - using a thicker oil results in the bearings getting starved because of low oil "volume"

similar thing happens at piston ring stack - the oil ring gets clogged with stagnant oil and burns,

our member haseeb has no proper yardstick. (as we have noticed with his posts) - he also thinks Pakistan has worse weather conditions than anywhere else on earth (and a few other planets too)

anyway - all engines burn a little oil. There is no engine on earth that doesnt burn some oil.

ye olde ustaad yardstick. - saoodia mein shiverlate ke engine aise sunn hotay thay ke pata hi nahi chalta thaa - itna acha tel thaa.

forgetting its a hydraulic lifter full iron OHV engine - of course it will be silent like a tomb. - same ustaad blaming oil because he cannot understand why a toyota 2ZR or 1KR sounds like a baby rattle.

Can you imagine the manager of official caltex lube shop ask me not to pour 0w20 in my vitz 1kr saying k ye to pani ki tarah hai aur gari lac se ouper chali hai. Gari ki awaz bhar jaygi. It will damage engine n will eat oil n bla bla

Also Honda has introduced its 0W-8 in Japan
